While I used to skip breakfast sometimes, these days I'm happily baking oatmeal pancakes, making smoothies, and spreading bread. They don't say breakfast is the most important meal of the day for nothing, so I'm happily joining in. First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.

This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp, Antwerp's newest boutique hotel on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted the 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out).
I recently stayed at this gem, and it truly has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls adorned with creative art, beautiful, bright rooms, and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delightful restaurant, helmed by a chef who previously worked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know!

30 hotspots for a delicious breakfast in Amsterdam
Chun Café
It's probably a good thing there's always a long line at Chun in the Nine Streets. Otherwise, I'd be having breakfast here every day with their delicious brioche toast! If you ask me, these are quite possibly the best sandwiches you can get in Amsterdam right now. So my advice: get there before 10.00:XNUMX AM on weekends or during the week (when it's a bit less busy). It's worth the wait. Favorites on the menu are definitely the bulgogi and the shrimp toast. Order a homemade lemonade with it. They also have excellent coffee.

Bakery Loof
There's really only one place you'll want to have breakfast in Amsterdam West. That is, if you love really good bread. Bakkerij Loof is a lovely spot with a wonderful atmosphere, whether you want to enjoy breakfast alone with a magazine or newspaper, or you're meeting up with a friend. In good weather, the terrace is also a great place to people-watch on the always lively Bilderdijkstraat. And did I mention they open at 8:00 AM? Bakkerij Loof is located in the same corner building as Café Binnenvisser, where you can join us from early evening.

Next
Next at the NDSM wharf is the newest addition from the team behind PLLEK. You could think of it as the bigger, slightly more mature, yet still rebellious and uncategorizable brother. They're open seven days a week from 9:30 am, so you're in the right place for breakfast too. NEXT also has a fantastic bar where you can enjoy cocktails later in the day. I think this is one of the few places in Amsterdam where you'll want to go for breakfast in the morning and party in the evening!

Le French Café
In the always lively and charming Javastraat, you can visit Le French Café all day long. A modern French bistro where the menu is packed with the best of France and where you'll feel like you're in Paris. The interior is absolutely stunning! Another thing I really love about this new restaurant in Amsterdam is the variety of charming nooks and crannies throughout the space. A table to sit at, small bistro tables where you can quietly read a newspaper, a cozy bar for endless drinks later in the day, and of course, a lovely terrace. For breakfast, they offer classic breakfast dishes such as sweet French breakfasts, various eggs, and sandwiches. And definitely try the mini madeleines with your coffee!

Cafe Restaurant Metro
Easily one of the nicest new restaurants in Amsterdam Noord. And the good news is that they have their own bakery, so they open early every day. They don't have an extensive breakfast menu, but they do have some delicious sweet options to go with your coffee. Good to know: they serve lunch from noon, so for dinner, this is definitely a place you'll want to visit.

Arie
Arie is the new restaurant in Amsterdam from the same club behind Bar Bonnie. It's an ode to the Amsterdam pub. From 9:00 AM, you can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, lunch, and dinner in the evening. Try the traditional Goudvisch family recipes, such as Zeeland mussels in wheat beer. Flo Bagels
Go with the flow and discover Flo's handmade bagels. They're hand-rolled, made overnight, and boiled with barley malt. For the most delicious bagels with fillings, you can now find them at three different locations in Amsterdam, from the city center to the west! Easily one of the best breakfast spots in Amsterdam.

Bakery Wolf
It started as a bakery, but now you can also enjoy a delicious meal. Morgan & Mees's top baker, Paula, makes the most delicious rolls, pastries, and croissants; they're absolutely mouthwatering. The café is open Tuesday through Sunday. They recently started serving dinner some evenings, but keep an eye on the website for that. This spot is perfect for an early breakfast or a tasty lunch in the Nine Streets.

Oeuf Amsterdam
Do you enjoy eggs in the morning? Then you should definitely have breakfast or brunch at Oeuf. Here you'll find everything with eggs, from a croque madam to a poached egg with salmon, an egg with salmon, or simply a delicious omelet.

Caravan
Around the corner from Kwakersplein, you'll find the charming Karavaan. It's an all-day hotspot where you can not only enjoy your first cup of coffee, brunch, lunch, or a friendly drink with friends, but also pop open your laptop and catch up on some work. They open every day at 9:00 AM, so it's perfect for an early catch-up with friends! And did I mention they have a lovely terrace?

Le Petit George
An all-day hotspot with several locations throughout the city. For breakfast, brunch, or lunch, this is the perfect spot. From Friday to Sunday, they open at 10:00 AM. Start your day right with fresh orange juice and fluffy American pancakes. Weather permitting, they also have a lovely terrace.

The Ysbreeker
On Weesperzijde in Amsterdam East, you'll find grand café de Ysbreeker. It's not trendy, but it's a spot locals keep returning to. They open every day at 8:00 AM, perfect for early risers. Start your day right with a cup of coffee from the espresso bar, but if you're in the mood for a delicious brunch, they've got it all. From poached eggs with salmon and hollandaise sauce to granola with coconut and yogurt, you'll find it all here. In the summer, they have one of the best terraces in Amsterdam East. For lunch, I love to come here for a steak tartare.

The Laundromat
Let's be honest, De Wasserette is a bit of an Amsterdam institution, isn't it? You'll want to be there early in the morning at this hotspot. They open at 7:30 AM. Sit on the terrace with a hot cup of coffee and watch the early morning market goers from the Albert Cuyp Market pass by.

MOAK Pancakes
MOAK Pancakes is Amsterdam's best pancake restaurant. Here you can enjoy pancakes for breakfast! MOAC They serve organic pancakes with some truly surprising combinations. So, no traditional Dutch pancakes with syrup or bacon. But a pancake with avocado, for example. Or with bacon, cheese, and onion. YUM!

Benjis
A wonderful all-day breakfast spot and address for a delicious brunch in Amsterdam. With an urban design featuring lots of steel, concrete, and greenery, the interior of Benjis Also very photogenic. This coffee spot also has delicious brunch dishes, like a yogurt bowl with banana, strawberry, and granola. Yum! They now have locations in East, West, and Nieuw-West.

Dignita
Perfect for a healthy breakfast or all-day brunch. They make everything themselves, using as many local ingredients as possible. Great for juices, sourdough sandwiches, egg dishes, and delicious cakes. They now have several locations in Amsterdam, but in my opinion, the best one is Dignita Hoftuin!

Vinnies
For healthy, organic breakfasts, Vinnies is the place to be! Start your day with oatmeal, yogurt with homemade granola, or croissants. It pairs perfectly with Bocca coffee or organic tea. Easily one of the best spots for coffee, breakfast, and lunch in the Rivierenbuurt neighborhood. They also have a patio when the weather is nice.

Scandinavian Embassy
At this Scandinavian spot in De Pijp You can go there for excellent coffee and delicious breakfasts. The menu features healthy sandwiches with a Scandinavian twist.
