Sourdough bread is hot in Amsterdam and I can only applaud that, because there's almost nothing as satisfying as sinking your teeth into a perfect slice of bread with salted butter or olive oil. Fortunately, there are more and more bakers in the capital who understand how to bake good sourdough bread. Ideal for every day! We collected 25 X bakers with the most delicious sourdough bread in Amsterdam.

First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.
So thank you for your support when you see #yourlbbcollab, #pressstrip or #prinvited ;-).
This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.
Luckily, I have a small team that helps with certain sections, and this year we're going through all the tips critically. What's still truly fun, and what's not?
As a leisure expert and queen of curation, I'm so excited to take yourlittleblackbook.me to the next level. Even though being an online entrepreneur requires constant attention and doesn't always come naturally, I wouldn't want anything else.
My mission remains: making your life easier.
So you don't have to search, but can simply choose well.
So glad you were here this year. Without you, there would be no Your Little Black Book 🖤
See you in 2026!
With love,
@anne_de_buck

I have always been part of the family and have always been proud of my work. I have a nice garden in my garden 🗝️👀
Mark your calendars! Because on January 17th and 18th, Hotel Night returns to Amsterdam with a year-round event packed with health and wellness events, and of course, legendary parties you'll be talking about all year long.
I got a sneak peek at The Art of Balance theme at the luxurious Anantara Krasnapolsky and arranged a similarly special experience for you as a YLBB follower.
And in my opinion:
• overnight stay for 2 people in a luxury room on January 17, 2026
• access to the spa & wellness (subject to availability via the wellness desk)
• pre-dinner cocktail at Bar The Tailor
• fully catered dinner from the chef
• passe-partouts for the Hotel Night parties
• extensive breakfast in the Winter Garden
• participation in unique Ice Experience in Krasnapolsky Summergarden
And in Flanders:
• let us know who you would like to check in with at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky during the Mastercard Hotel Night
• download the Mastercard Hotel Night app where you can see the complete program
• and take a look at @hotelnacht and @anantarakrasnapolsky for the latest updates and to get the fun started!
The winner will be notified on January 5th in a comment from @hotelnacht that I will share in my stories.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
Love,
Anne

9-night hotel preview at Anantara Krasnapolsky and the best night out in your own city. TIP: There's a fantastic giveaway coming up that you won't want to miss. 👀
Note to self: visit a hotel spa more often for the ultimate luxury experience, such as at Anantara Krasnapolsky Amsterdam.

PS: Who recognizes this Christmas tree? 👀

On weekends, lines form outside Florence's Levain et Le Vin. She recently opened her bakery, but she's already attracting customers everywhere. Not only are the round boules avid, but the cinnamon rolls and focaccia are also mouthwatering. Also a bonus: she sells a fine selection of (natural) wines.
Jan Pieter Heijestraat 168, Amsterdam – levainetlevin.com
Bakery on one side, restaurant on the other. Wolf has a wealth of experience, and you can taste it. You can find the most delicious breads and pastries here every day. Don't feel like making them at home? Of course, you can have lunch here with their freshly baked bread. Highly recommended.
Wolvenstraat 22, Amsterdam, Amsterdam – bakerywolf.nl
Restaurant As was a favorite of ours for years. We were therefore sad when they closed. Fortunately, they continue the magic with Stadsbakkerij As, so we can still enjoy a little of their knowledge and expertise. Their slogan is "for sourdough and everything that goes well with bread," so this is the perfect place for sourdough bread.
Conradstraat 471, Amsterdam – broodvanas.nl
And they really do bake with passion at this bakery in the non-market section of Albert Cuypstraat! The facade is entirely made of glass, so your gaze is immediately drawn to the tables laden with breads, baguettes, croissants, and all sorts of other goodies.
Albert Cuypstraat 53, Amsterdam – bakkenmetpassie.nl
It's a tricky claim, but I dare say it: at Le Fournil de Sébastien, you'll find the very best croissants and baguettes in town. There, I said it. The line outside reminds you it's Saturday morning, but luckily, it usually moves pretty quickly. Go here. Buy lots of bread. Enjoy.

Hartog's Volkoren has been the go-to place for whole wheat bread in Amsterdam for years. Their signature loaves are baked fresh all day long on Wibautstraat and are incredibly delicious. The spelt bread is made with 100% sourdough, the other with a mix of yeast and sourdough. Both are equally good, so good luck choosing!
Wibautstraat 77, Amsterdam – wholewheatbread.nl
Fort Negen is the talk of the town. It's certainly because of their excellent products, served with a smile. No matter how busy it is. Maarten and his team are constantly experimenting and have new specials every weekend. But of course, they also offer their usual favorite: excellent bread.
Jan Evertsenstraat 32, Amsterdam – fortnegen.nl
What happens when a top chef (hi Joris Bijdendijk) and his team dedicate themselves to baking bread? Magic, that's what happens. Wils Bakery is a bistro and bakery rolled into one. Come here for fresh bread to take home, or for a fantastic French lunch.
Stadionplein 24, Amsterdam – restaurantwils.nl
The French are passionate about baking bread, and Noah on Vijzelgracht has them follow French tradition. Here you'll always find what you need for your daily bread, croissants, and other pastries.
Vijzelgracht 20, Amsterdam – boulangerienoe.com
Anyone who travels through Weesperplein or studies nearby will undoubtedly know Het Bakhuys. This pleasant, spacious establishment is the go-to spot for many people for a cup of coffee, a currant bun, or a hearty sandwich. Enjoy your breakfast there or grab something to take home.

At the Ten Katemarkt you'll find Bakkerij Straathof, with the best bread in the market and the surrounding area. In winter, it's also the place to be for the best oliebollen.
Ten Katestraat 21, Amsterdam – bakerystraathof.nl
Baking Lab isn't just a bakery; it's a place where food waste is combated and the art of bread baking is shared. Thanks to their proprietary method using recycled bread, their bread has a longer shelf life. How convenient!
Linnaeusstraat 99, Amsterdam – bakinglab.nl
Kometen Café owes its name to Kometenstraat, the place where this adventure began. During the pandemic, they baked for the neighborhood, and now they have a brand-new and beautiful spot at NDSM 11. They bake with passion here, and you can definitely taste it. The to-go hatch next to the main entrance is very convenient, saving you time in line.
MS van Riemsdijkweg 2, Amsterdam – cometbread.nl
Louf is located next to Binnenvisser, and that's no coincidence. The owners took the building next door and turned it into an equally beautiful place. Their head baker learned to bake at Bakkerij Ex, so that's a perfect fit. Take-away is possible, but it's almost a shame considering the beautiful interior.
Bilderdijkstraat 38-40, Amsterdam – bakkerijlouf.nl
Well, the Vlaamsch Broodhuys, what more can we say? Simply always good, especially the Christophe Pavé. Sink your teeth into the bread, smell the sourdough, and imagine yourself in a French wheatfield.
Various locations, Amsterdam – vlaamschbroodhuys.nl

The Flemish Bread House
Another French gem on this list. Gebroeders Niemeijer is an institution in the city, baking bread for many restaurants. The fougasse is just like in La Douce France, as are the baguettes, cannelés, croissants, and practically everything else they sell. Here too, you can enjoy it there or take some home. Or simply do both.
Nieuwendijk 35, Amsterdam – gebroedersniemeijer.nl
Whole wheat bread grown without artificial fibers and chemicals, you can get it from Paul Année around the corner The HallsThe bread is sold in their own bakery, but also at numerous restaurants, cafes, health food stores and hotels.
Bellamystraat 8, Amsterdam – bakerypaulannee.nl
Dolzon is the place to be for truly good bread in Amsterdam Noord. Afterward, you can pop over to Kef, your neighbor, for some delicious cheeses. This part of Amsterdam Noord just keeps getting better and better! Why not grab a glass of wine at Chateau Karlito?
Van der Pekplein 15A, Amsterdam – Facebook page
The owner has French roots and therefore certainly respects traditions. You can order in advance, so you're guaranteed your choice. Everything here takes a lot of time and effort, so sometimes it's gone before it's gone.
Maasstraat 16, Amsterdam – grammes.nl
For artisanal sourdough bread, Bakkerij Mater in the Pijp district is the place to be. Besides enormous loaves with an excellent flavor and crispy crust, you can also order delicacies like focaccias, croissants, and cookies. You'd easily cycle right past it if you didn't know this new bakery in Amsterdam opened right next to a busy bike path. So next time, stop off and take that delicious treat home!
Ceintuurbaan 320, Amsterdam – bakkerijmater.nl

Just around the corner from Fort Negen and with slightly shorter lines. Here too, people with a huge passion for their craft (baking) and a strong focus on local products. They can even tell you which miller the grains come from.
Cabralstraat 7, Amsterdam – ulmusbakkerij.nl
The taste of Amsterdam, wrapped in bread. At Bakkers van Oost, we always listen to our customers' wishes to bake the best and most delicious bread possible. This bread is worth the detour!
Sumatrastraat 42 and Kadijksplein 6, Amsterdam – debakkersvanoost.nl
A bakery run by the sons of two bakers. That sounds like a nice story, but it's actually true at the bakery De Bakkerszonen in Amsterdam OostHere, Johan Hartog and Martijn Meijer are at the helm, continuing their parents' trade.
Mosveld 113, Beukenplein 8 and Roetersstraat 21, Amsterdam – mossveld.debakkerszonen.nl
Bbrood bakes with a mission: they love making the planet a little better. Sustainability is paramount, as is nutritious and healthy bread. That's why they source as locally as possible and aim to transition to a zero-waste approach in the coming years. Their cornbread is especially recommended!
Various locations, Amsterdam – bbrood.nl
Last but not least! Rise is located on the Albert Cuyp Market, making it the perfect place to combine with a day at the market. Tucked away behind the various market stalls at the Albert Cuyp Market, the Rise Bakery is reminiscent of a Parisian coffee shop. Here you can find all your bread and pastry needs.
