9 weekly markets in Amsterdam and tips for the tastiest stalls

Who follows Your Little Black Book on Instagram I know I prefer to do my grocery shopping at the market. That's why I thought it was time to share the best weekly markets in Amsterdam with you. Of course, there are Amsterdam There are many more markets, so if you have any tips of your own, please let me know. I can honestly say I've truly rediscovered Amsterdam's markets in recent years. I try to make shopping on Fridays or weekends one of my favorite things to do with my family; it's a nice walk or bike ride to a weekly market in a different neighborhood. It's best to go early to avoid crowds and research the market beforehand. tasty recipes Decide what you're going to cook. Do you live near a market that's open every day? Then make it your daily routine to do your grocery shopping there, for example, at lunchtime, instead of at the supermarket. Then you'll (probably) eat more seasonally and only buy what you're going to eat that evening. For example, I live right between the Dappermarkt and the Albert Cuypmarkt and I'm always trying out new stalls.

9 Markets and Delicious Stalls in Amsterdam

The DappermarktFavorite stalls here include Klaas's cheese, Spakenburg's fish stall, and Dimitri's bread. Also nice: the market is open six days a week.

Excitement marketThis is the Saturday market at IJburg. Especially in the summer, it's a great place to combine lunch on the terrace of Haas & Popi. Freshly baked fish at fishmonger 't Loggertje, delicious spreads and Greek tapas to take home from House of Crete, tasty French snacks from Bruno, and even more delicious spreads and olives from Sabores.

Ten Kate marketDon't miss the hummus stall, Ad Straathof's baguettes, and Boer Geert's delicious sandwiches. For tasty snacks, head to Deli Fresh at this market. The Ten Kate market is open Monday through Saturday.

PekmarktOn Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, you'll find a changing selection of fresh produce and stalls offering a bit of everything. It depends a bit on what day you visit, but the fish stall is always excellent. I also have to admit that I often end up at Dolzon for bread and Kef for cheese! Not at the market, but down the street.

Ornamental square marketWhenever possible, I go to work at my editor's office on Wednesdays, and our afternoon stroll is to this market on Sierplein. All the stalls here are so good. Don't miss: Heinen & Koelewijn for excellent fish, Miek's Koffie en Zo for a meatball sandwich (thank me later!), Slager Edward if you're making a stew this weekend, and Price Club for the tastiest spreads.
Sierplein 2, Amsterdam – siermarkt.nl

Southern MarketSmall but charming, it's a great stop after a walk in Vondelpark. Do some grocery shopping, pick up some meat at Butcher Shop de Schuyt (formerly Van Dam), grab a coffee to go, and then head home. It's worth saying, this market has a really good selection. Think Vleck wines, Erik's Delicatessen, Pieman, and Bbrood.
Jacob Obrechtstraat & Johannes Verhulststraat, Amsterdam – zuidermrkt.nl

Albert Cupy marketSince my son started going to toddler dance on Friday mornings at Damoves, around the corner from the Albert Cuyp Market, I've truly rediscovered the market. I never go home without getting my Friday afternoon drinks at Twins Olives (the green stuffed peppers are a real addiction right now). They've been off the corner for a while now, but diagonally across from the fish stalls. I always go to the fish stall on the right, and I also get chicken wings for the little one at Chris Kip and stuffed dates and balsamic onions at Chris Olijven. And did you know you can also get dim sum for breakfast here, and you can eat the best Japanese pancakes at Osaka?
Albert Cuypstraat, Amsterdam – albertcuyp-markt.amsterdam

LindegrachtOn Saturdays, there's a general market on the Lindegracht, as they call it. Here you'll find everything you need for your daily groceries, and this market is also perfect to combine with the Farmers' Market at the Noordermarkt on Saturdays.
Lindengracht 4B, Amsterdam – jordaanmarkten.nl

noordermarkt: It doesn't matter what day I go, I always enjoy it. On Saturdays, you can find delicious home-cooked products at the organic market. The mushroom stall is a particular favorite of mine. My absolute new favorite there is the Indonesian stall, Sate Bar Charly. The satay is divine, and normally I'd say sharing is caring, but in this case, you'll just want to order your own portion. Trust me.

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure. ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { In this post, I share tips for the Ebro Delta in Spain (Delta de l'Ebre). PUUR JONNIE, an ode to Jonnie Boer. Today I had the honor of being at @delibrijezwolle for the book launch of @jonnie_en_therese. I spent the entire evening reading and browsing. WHAT A BOOK. What stories. WHAT AN ODE. Love, Nature, Pioneer, Fatherhood, Music, Jonnie's Foundation, Friendship, Suppliers, Local products, Relaxation, Entrepreneurship, Humor & The pure human being. Everything is covered, beautifully written by @joel.broekaert. With contributions from, among others, @nelsontanate, @rekkebus, @ronblaauwtje, @jorisbijdendijk, @sidney_schutte & @hvw043. Thanks for the wonderful afternoon @jonnie_en_therese 💚 PUUR JONNIE, Available from April 14 at your local bookstore (and online) 🖊️ @anne_de_buck
This is your ticket to Japan without taking a plane 🥢 @tewatashi.ams in De Pijp serves an authentic Edo-Mae Sushi Experience and is super consistent in their quality. It's the place we keep going back to when we have something to celebrate <3. In this video I'm sharing the 2 hour experience in 60 seconds. Still dreaming about the buttery ika nigiri. 🤤 ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in Amsterdam serving premium sushi omakase in De Pijp }
𝗔 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗳𝗲́ 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆? @eetcafe_de_reiger is the spot to remember. Cozy, casual, and a seasonal menu. This one was on my list to share for a year and finally it's (almost) asparagus season again! 🤤 Another plus? Prices are very reasonable here! 📍 Eetcafé de Reiger Jordaan, Amsterdam City Center Save this spot for when you're craving warm Dutch traditional dishes in the heart of Amsterdam. And did you hear the same team took over Eetcafé van Beeren? I can't wait to go there too! ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck
