Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). The Marlin Bar

For oysters and a good glass of wine, The Marlin Bar is always a good choice. The restaurant in Oud-Zuid also has a heated terrace where you can enjoy outdoor seating even on cooler days. Order a platter of Fine de Claire or Irish Gold oysters and enjoy a long lunch or drinks reception. Inside, the decor is just as beautiful, but as soon as the sun comes out, you'll want to stay outside, even when the evening sun slowly sets and the air starts to cool.

At the Stedelijk Museum, you'll find Café Restaurant Sandberg, a great all-day dining spot on Museumplein. From breakfast to dinner, you can enjoy the terrace in good weather. Just like at their other restaurant, Metro, they bake their own bread, and believe us, you'll want to try it. Tip: definitely stick around for coffee and apple pie.

After its recent renovation, the restaurant feels more modern than ever, yet still feels familiar. In good weather, you can also sit outside on the terrace, overlooking the Rijksmuseum and the museum gardens.

Where Martinot used to be, you'll now find Esh Pitabar, a pita bar and restaurant where the owners' Israeli roots take center stage.
