Straight from the airport to this little place to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉 <3
In Taipei, you go to a Soy Milk Shop for breakfast. Warm soy milk to eat in a bowl, and steam baskets with the tastiest dumplings and baozi. You can really wake me up for this kind of breakfast. These local breakfast spots come in all shapes and sizes, from Michelin-recommended spots to hole-in-the-wall stalls.
Most soy milk shops open early (and sometimes even 24 hours a day), and these are the dishes you want to try:
🥄 Warm soy milk
🥢 Soup dumplings (you can often choose between pork and veggies)
🥢 Pork baozi
🥢 Youtiao (油條 - a kind of fried donut stick)
🥢 Youtiao (油條) w/ pork floss & rice
🥢 Turnip cake
🥢 Chives pancake
🥢 Scallion pancake
TIP: Sharing is a good idea to taste as much as possible, because the portions are (often) large.

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away.
During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies, where there is plenty to do.
• A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea.
· Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round.
· Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting.
Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold right now, but there is plenty to do.
• The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!).
Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure.

Paal 12 is located on a quiet stretch of unspoiled beach in the south of Texel. The interior makes this beach club truly unique on the island; the Ibiza-inspired decor makes it definitely worth a visit. The food is delicious, and the snacks are especially trendy. Paal 12 organizes the annual 'Sunny Side Up' festival, so be sure to snag a ticket!

Beach pavilion Cape North
Kaap Noord is located near the northernmost point of Texel, offering stunning views of the neighboring island of Vlieland. The beach at this establishment is always peaceful, and with a bit of luck, you might even spot seals. The outdoor terrace features large benches with even larger cushions and is situated next to some brightly colored beach huts. Even when the weather is less than ideal, the heaters are lit indoors. Our recommendation? Be sure to order the delicious Jutter-plank with your drinks.

Post 21
Paal 21 rents out not only sunbeds but also entire beach huts. This beach club on Texel is also highly recommended. The interior is simple yet creative, with plenty of light blue and wicker accents. The menu is simple but delicious, and the Texel bitterballen are a particular favorite. You'll find Paal 21 near De Koog, next to a protected dune area with authentic Texel cows.

Paal 17 is located just below the Texel village of De Koog, making it the perfect spot to relax on its sustainable terrace after a walk on the beach. The restaurant inside is highly recommended; the interior is beautiful, and the velvet chairs are a real eye-catcher. The menu is simple but delicious. At Paal 17, you can also rent sunbeds and other sunbathing equipment to make your day at the beach perfect. So, don't miss this beach club on Texel.

Beach Club Texel (Paal 19,5)
Beach Club Texel is definitely one of the nicest beach clubs on Texel, interior-wise. The white and blue accents, combined with wood and warm tones, create a true beach vibe throughout the venue. The kitchen uses local ingredients as much as possible, making the restaurant sustainable. Sunbeds are also available for rent. This club is also open 365 days a year. In short, a truly top-notch venue! Beach Club Texel is located near the village of De Koog.

Post 15
Paal 15 is a top-notch beach club. Because it has not one, but two pavilions, it's suitable for all tastes. Paal 15 Noord is a more trendy club, with beautiful lounge sets and an unobstructed view of the North Sea. You can also go there for true culinary delights. Paal 15 Zuid, on the other hand, is a quintessentially Dutch club and a true seasonal pavilion. Paal 15 is located right next to Den Burg. It's easily one of the best beach clubs on Texel.

Post 9
Paal 9 is located near the village of Den Hoorn, slightly further south on Texel. It's a true family-run establishment, with cozy lounge cushions throughout. The interior is simple, as befits a local Texel beach club. The menu has something for everyone, from homemade fresh lemonades to Texel Skuumkoppen (Texel Squash Heads). For dinner, Paal 9 serves fresh fish from the North Sea and, if available, delicious fresh mussels. These go very quickly, so be sure to order ahead!
