The North Holland coast is full of charming and relatively unknown seaside resorts. Here you can escape the hustle and bustle of seaside resorts like Zandvoort en Bloemendaal And enjoy the truly wild and rugged Dutch coast. Villages like Castricum and Callantsoog, in particular, are still undiscovered gems, with countless great beach bars and restaurants. Or head in the opposite direction and visit the undiscovered beach of Wijk aan Zee. Wherever you go, we have plenty of recommendations. Read here about our favorite beach bars in North Holland that are located outside the well-known seaside resorts.

@eetcafe_de_reiger is the spot to remember.
Cozy, casual, and a seasonal menu. This one was on my list to share for a year and finally it's (almost) asparagus season again! 🤤
Another plus? Prices are very reasonable here!
📍 Eetcafé de Reiger
Jordaan, Amsterdam City Centre
Save this spot for when you're craving warm Dutch traditional dishes in the heart of Amsterdam.
And did you hear the same team took over Eetcafé van Beeren? I can't wait to go there too!

A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?
🍴 Labskaus with caviar
🍴 Enleta waffle with Pfalz vinegar
🍴 Game pie
🍴 Dry aged Duck
TIP: If you go to Sühring, reserve the seats at the kitchen bar so you have a view of the chefs at work!

In this reels I take you along for fine dining in Bangkok at the three Michelin starred restaurant Sühring.

This is one of the nicest free outings in the spring! Did you know that you can gather (or pick, for the connoisseurs 😉) oysters yourself in various places in the Netherlands? I’m in Zeeland for a bit this weekend, and if we can, we’ll go again.
📍In this video, I show where you can fill your bucket.
Comment oester for the comprehensive guide with all details about all 8 locations + handy tips and rules.
Important to know:
– Max. 10 kilos per person (≈ 1 bucket)
– For personal use only
– Do not scoop or scrape the soil
– Go at low tide
Handy to take with you:
Bucket, screwdriver, boots, work gloves, tea towel, clean clothes and garbage bags (for the oysters and dirty clothes).
And of course: also bring an oyster knife, lemon and champagne 🍋🥂Because you want to taste something right away!
The oyster season runs from September to about April / early May, so now that the water isn't so cold, this is the perfect outing.
In the full guide, I share exactly where you can easily find them without much effort. Leave a comment and I'll send it to you right away!
Who do you want to go oyster collecting with soon?

This is one of those weekends where your only problem is how you're going to fit everything into this last weekend of March (yes already?!).
From a free event to try new Limited Subs at @ijveramsterdam to slow mornings, a market stroll (or two), maybe finally ticking off that new restaurant that's been on your list for weeks… and ending somewhere with a good glass of wine while telling yourself “just one more” 😉

Beach pavilion Club ZandBeachclub Zand has a fantastic interior with lots of wood and greenery. It's especially worth a visit on Fridays, when you can enjoy drinks and live music. The atmosphere is relaxed and young, and the dishes on the menu are delicious. Club Zand is strongly committed to sustainability, and this is reflected in the menu. Our recommendation? The Amsterdam Hotdog, of course; we absolutely love it. You'll find Club Zand on Castricum beach, a quiet beach with a beautiful coastline.

Beach pavilion HargenBeach pavilion Hargen has a truly fantastic interior. Lots of white and wood, and beautiful large olive trees on the terrace—we love it. The menu is simple, but the dishes are truly delicious; we're especially fond of the fresh sea bass. Hargen is simply recommended! You'll find beach pavilion Hargen near Schoorl.

Nautilus by the SeaBeach bar Nautilus is a local favorite. It's the perfect spot to relax on the large, sunny terrace with a cold beer after a long walk. Inside is also a great spot when the weather's less than ideal. The interior is simple yet chic, and the lighting is beautiful. The menu features delicious dishes made with fresh and varied regional produce. Children are also catered for, with special mini snacks for the littlest ones.

Camperduin Beach Pavilion STRUINStruin is a typical Dutch beach pavilion on the North Sea coast. The interior is simple and the food delicious; exactly what we expected. Struin Beach Pavilion is located in the relatively unknown Camperduin, between Petten and Bergen aan Zee. The beach here is wonderfully peaceful; so take a long walk in Camperduin and then settle down for a hot chocolate or a cold craft beer at Struin.

Aloha Wijk aan Zee Beach Pavilion: Aloha Beach is located in Wijk aan Zee, a lesser-known but very pleasant coastal spot. Because Wijk aan Zee is less well-known, it's always nice and quiet here, and you can always find a spot at the beach clubs. Our favorite in Wijk aan Zee, Aloha, is definitely worth a visit. The interior is trendy, the food is incredibly delicious and healthy, and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Aloha is a great place to go with a large group of friends, and children are also very welcome. Highly recommended!

Beach pavilion ZoomersStrandpaviljoen Zoomers aan Zee near Castricum is one of our favorite beach pavilions on the North Sea coast. Here you can enjoy delicious and healthy food from a menu full of organic dishes. This is also a great beach pavilion for children, with a beach hut especially designed for them and a menu full of tasty treats for the little ones. The interior is also beautiful, and if you can't get enough of this stylish and luxurious setting, you can simply spend the night at the on-site hotel!
Zeeweg 51, Castricum – zoomersaanzee.nl

Beach restaurant WOEST – CALLANTSOOGBeach restaurant Woest is located in Callantsoog, a small coastal village near Schagen. Woest is a chic spot with a delicious, creative menu. Our favorite is the "twosties" on the lunch menu; traditional toasted sandwiches with a twist. The interior is beautiful, and we especially love the unique tableware. So don't miss Woest when visiting Callantsoog.

Kayuca ZandvoortBeach tent Kayuca is a trendy beach tent with a classic Dutch beach pavilion menu. Because this tent is a bit newer, it's still nice and quiet compared to the other beach tents. Part of the terrace is right on the beach. So order a delicious cold drink and a tasty snack and enjoy the summer vibes!
Boulevard Paulus Loot 2, Zandvoort – kayuca.nl

Hippie FishIn our opinion, Hippie Fish is the hippest beach club on our list. The interior is truly stunning, with lots of white, rattan, and plants; perfect for gorgeous Instagram photos! At Hippie Fish, you can also rent sunbeds for the day. Be sure to arrive early, as most of them are already gone by mid-morning! If you're a bit late, don't worry. The terrace is also a great place to sit, and the menu is delicious and fresh. Enjoy a perfect day at the beach at Hippie Fish.

Tijn AkerslootTijn Akersloot might just have the best drinks and snacks on the entire Dutch coast; we especially love the brick-oven pizzas and cocktails. The atmosphere is also fantastic; you can spend a day relaxing in a rented hammock or lounger, and in the evening, when it gets a bit chilly, in a lounge chair by the fireplace. Don't miss Tijn Akersloot!
