Here they are: the 5 tastiest stands and snacks at the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt

There's nothing better than strolling through the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt markets on a sunny Saturday morning. Besides fresh cheese, artisanal bread, and wildflowers, these nearby markets are known for something else: delicious snacks. Because it's easy to lose track of things in the hustle and bustle of Saturday mornings, here's a roundup of the best snacks at the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt.

5 x Best Snacks and Stands at Lindengracht and Noordermarkt

Visit the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt markets for your weekly grocery shopping, and you'll undoubtedly return home with a full stomach. Relax at one of the nearby terraces or enjoy the countless snacks the markets have to offer. Time for an overview.

Apple pie at Café Winkel 43 – Noordermarkt

Admittedly, Café Winkel 43 on the Noordermarkt doesn't quite measure up. Still, it deserves a spot on the list of Noordermarkt's best snacks, as their apple pie is praised worldwide for a reason. On Saturdays and Mondays, you'll often find a line; on other days of the week, it's quieter. Don't let the wait times discourage you, though; once you've tried their apple pie, you'll never want anything else.

Fresh oysters at Goede Vissers – Noordermarkt

Is there anything that evokes a better holiday feeling than devouring oysters while standing? Not in our opinion, especially if you manage to snag the freshest ones from Goede Vissers (Good Fishermen) at the Noordermarkt.

Pork belly sandwich with Mr. Brasa – Lindengracht

If you love pork, Mr. Brasa is the place to be. At the Lindengracht Market, you can try their now-famous and generously filled pork belly sandwich. If you don't have time for the Lindengracht, you can also visit them at the IJburg-Reuring Market (IJburg), Westergas Sunday Market (Westerpark), and the Museum Market (Museumplein).

Satay at Satay Bar Charley – Lindengracht

Saté Bar Charley is the ultimate destination for fresh satay on Lindengracht. You'll feel like you're in the real Indonesia, instead of a local Indonesian restaurant.

Sabich sandwich at Abu Salie – Noordermarkt

Abu Salie is located in the Noordermarkt, and it's a feast for the taste buds. The Sabich sandwich always creates long lines, which are absolutely worth joining. This acclaimed sandwich is generously topped with tahini, eggplant, egg, cilantro, cucumber, tomato, onion, and spicy mango sauce.

In short: both the Lindengracht and the Noordermarkt are worth a visit. On weekends, you can find delicious snacks and weekly groceries, and on Mondays, the Noordermarkt offers the most unique vintage items and, of course, apple pie from Café Winkel. Reason or no reason: just go.

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away. During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies alike, where there is plenty to do. · A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea. · Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round. · Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting. · Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold now, but there is plenty to do. · The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!). Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure. ✖️✖️✖️ 🖊️ @anne_de_buck { In this post, I share tips for the Ebro Delta in Spain (Delta de l'Ebre).
