Straight from the airport to this little place to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉 <3
In Taipei, you go to a Soy Milk Shop for breakfast. Warm soy milk to eat in a bowl, and steam baskets with the tastiest dumplings and baozi. You can really wake me up for this kind of breakfast. These local breakfast spots come in all shapes and sizes, from Michelin-recommended spots to hole-in-the-wall stalls.
Most soy milk shops open early (and sometimes even 24 hours a day), and these are the dishes you want to try:
🥄 Warm soy milk
🥢 Soup dumplings (you can often choose between pork and veggies)
🥢 Pork baozi
🥢 Youtiao (油條 - a kind of fried donut stick)

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away.
During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies, where there is plenty to do.
• A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea.
· Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round.
· Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting.
Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold right now, but there is plenty to do.
• The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!).
Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure.

Most good ice cream parlors in Amsterdam We already know them: Massimo, Van Leeuwen, Van Soest, Ijscuypje, Pisa, and the many others never get old, but sometimes you crave something different (even if it's just to avoid the long lines). So, get acquainted with Amsterdam's best soft serve, where the lines are shorter and the ice cream is just as good.
Crema Amsterdam
For soft serve with a twist, you'll want to have this spot in Amsterdam on your radar. Here, they serve soft serve with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and believe us: you want to try it. The oil gives the ice cream a fresh flavor that works surprisingly well. Prefer something sweeter? Then go for the version with crushed pistachios or the one with caramel sauce and nuts—a bit of a sundae vibe, but next level good!

It's back! The Oatly Soft Serve at Stach. Last year, this vegan soft serve was also available at an Oatly pop-up on Prinsengracht, and this year the famous ice cream returns to Stach. And with delicious toppings like caramel, coffee, and strawberry.

Bakery Hartog
You might know Hartog Bakery from their iconic whole-wheat bread and the annual queues for their famous oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts). This summer, they're adding a new classic to the list, as Hartog is now also serving soft serve ice cream! Classic and creamy, with toppings from their own bakery.

Fort Negen is a now-famous bakery, with one brilliant invention after another. Their soft serve ice cream is certainly one of them, because who would think it's a good idea to serve soft serve ice cream in one of their bestsellers? The result – soft serve ice cream served in their croissant dough puff – is so good that, in our opinion, it deserves an award.

Van der Linde Pastry Shop
They don't have an Instagram account or a website, so you'll have to take our word for it when we send you to Nieuwendijk to sample Amsterdam's most unique soft serve. This classic pastry shop has been serving the same soft serve for thirty years, using a secret recipe that has become a household name in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. So, go!

Another bakery-cum-restaurant with a brilliant idea: Wils Bakery Café. Besides fantastic dishes, delicious sandwiches, and other treats, the pastry is truly outstanding, and their soft serve, in particular, continues to amaze. We recommend saving some room if you dine here, because you'll want to experience this.
