@eetcafe_de_reiger is the spot to remember.
Cozy, casual, and a seasonal menu. This one was on my list to share for a year and finally it's (almost) asparagus season again! 🤤
Another plus? Prices are very reasonable here!
📍 Eetcafé de Reiger
Jordaan, Amsterdam City Centre
Save this spot for when you're craving warm Dutch traditional dishes in the heart of Amsterdam.
And did you hear the same team took over Eetcafé van Beeren? I can't wait to go there too!

A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?
🍴 Labskaus with caviar
🍴 Enleta waffle with Pfalz vinegar
🍴 Game pie
🍴 Dry aged Duck
TIP: If you go to Sühring, reserve the seats at the kitchen bar so you have a view of the chefs at work!

In this reels I take you along for fine dining in Bangkok at the three Michelin starred restaurant Sühring.

This is one of the nicest free outings in the spring! Did you know that you can gather (or pick, for the connoisseurs 😉) oysters yourself in various places in the Netherlands? I’m in Zeeland for a bit this weekend, and if we can, we’ll go again.
📍In this video, I show where you can fill your bucket.
Comment oester for the comprehensive guide with all details about all 8 locations + handy tips and rules.
Important to know:
– Max. 10 kilos per person (≈ 1 bucket)
– For personal use only
– Do not scoop or scrape the soil
– Go at low tide
Handy to take with you:
Bucket, screwdriver, boots, work gloves, tea towel, clean clothes and garbage bags (for the oysters and dirty clothes).
And of course: also bring an oyster knife, lemon and champagne 🍋🥂Because you want to taste something right away!
The oyster season runs from September to about April / early May, so now that the water isn't so cold, this is the perfect outing.
In the full guide, I share exactly where you can easily find them without much effort. Leave a comment and I'll send it to you right away!
Who do you want to go oyster collecting with soon?

From September to November, it's spring in Australia. Consider a unique trip to Tasmania, a truly unique natural paradise. Tasmania is a great place to visit in spring; temperatures can reach 19 degrees Celsius in November and are generally below 10 degrees Celsius. You'll undoubtedly encounter plenty of kangaroos during your trip to Australia. But if you're lucky, you can even spot whales, sea lions, and dolphins in Sydney in November!
If you travel to New Zealand in November, you'll beat everyone else to the peak season, and you won't be bothered by too many tourists. In November, the sun shines for about seven hours a day, with pleasant temperatures, no colder than 10 degrees Celsius at night. November is a great month for a trip to New Zealand, especially if you're planning on hiking. Don't forget to hike Roy's Peak during your stay. It's a challenging hike, but well worth the effort. It's on many people's bucket lists for good reason.
In terms of temperature, Japan is a good option. It's autumn in Japan, but the temperature differences between the north, central, and south are quite large. The traditional Shichi-Go-San festival takes place in November, on November 15th to be precise. This stands for the Seven-Five-Three festival and is all about children. An adventurous activity, but definitely worth it, is a visit to Japan's highest mountain, Mount Fuji. Did you know you can also see it from Tokyo?
Besides enjoying the summer temperatures of November, Cambodia offers incredible value for money. Beer prices are five to ten times cheaper than in the Netherlands, accommodation is inexpensive, and meals are also affordable. The country boasts a rich history and offers a wide variety of sights to admire, such as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Angkor Wat is a religious structure and the largest in the world. It's well worth setting aside a day (or half a day) to explore it!
With temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius in Laos, November is certainly warm. Nighttime temperatures usually don't drop below 19 degrees Celsius, so prepare for wonderfully mild evenings. Laos is generally dry, making it a great destination for travel. Plan a visit to Muang La, where you can not only hike but also take beautiful mountain walks. Exhausted after your hike? Then you can visit the nearby spa. Relaxation is also important!
Is a trip to the Maldives also high on your list? That's perfect, because the best time to visit the Maldives is definitely November! During your trip, you can even spot whale sharks, and perhaps even manta rays. How cool is that? With summer temperatures, you can go snorkeling, diving, and end your day with a relaxing yoga and meditation session. Under these ideal conditions, you'll completely unwind.

Maldives
In Thailand, too, it never gets colder than around 18 degrees Celsius, and November is generally dry, with one caveat: if you want to avoid the rain, you can go anywhere, but southern Thailand—on the east coast—receives the most rain in November. A trip to Thailand naturally includes tasting the real, authentic Thai curry. Immerse yourself in different worlds by trekking through mountains and visiting vibrant Bangkok on the other side.
Traveling to a country smaller than the Netherlands? Choose the island of Taiwan! Did you know that the Dutch once settled on Formosa? That's what the island was called before. With beautiful nature reserves, this island offers a wealth of things to see and do. An average of around four hours of sunshine per day shouldn't spoil the fun, and with temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius, this is your chance to take long (cycling) trips and visit Taiwan's unique national parks.
This month, the temperatures are pleasant, and much of it is dry. Visit Hong Kong's largest temple, the Man Mo Temple on Hong Kong Island. We also recommend admiring the stunning views from Victoria Peak, which offers a magnificent view of all of Hong Kong. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can climb Victoria Peak yourself. Are you up for it?
With temperatures ranging from 17 to 30 degrees Celsius, a trip to Myanmar is very pleasant. Myanmar, formerly Burma, has only recently become accessible to tourists. That's precisely what makes it such a wonderful country to visit. Myanmar has earned the name "Jewel of Asia," and for good reason. Numerous golden temples await you, and the locals are very welcoming. We also recommend relaxing on the beautiful Ngapali Beach. A dreamlike scene, but in reality!
The best time to visit Chile is November, again depending on your personal preferences. The weather during this spring period is clear, especially in northern Chile. A section of the collapsed volcano, Valle de Luna, is an impressive activity to plan. With or without a guide, Valle de Luna is easy to visit. Some say it's reminiscent of Star Wars. It's like you're actually walking around there!
Vietnam is much more well-known, where temperatures are also pleasant. Rain can fall in central Vietnam, with a risk of storms. Keep that in mind! Vietnam is generally a popular backpacker destination, and we understand why. You'll experience countless highlights during your trip. For a taste of traditional Asia, visit Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Vietnam
In Brazil, the temperature won't drop below 17 degrees Celsius in November, and the maximum temperature hovers around 25 degrees Celsius. Visiting Rio de Janeiro? Then you'll enjoy the golden beaches and vibrant nightlife. Do you love nature and value sustainability? Then consider traveling to Bonito.
Panama experiences a lot of rain in November, but that's no reason not to visit this beautiful country. Temperatures hover around 25 degrees Celsius, and this month marks both Colombia's independence (November 3) and Panama's independence (November 28). You can also visit the impressive rainforests and Panama City.
Are you a fan of beautiful nature? Then put Costa Rica at the top of your list. You'll encounter beautiful animals, lush jungles, and majestic volcanoes in this verdant paradise. From Amsterdam, you can fly to this Latin American country in just 11 hours. Fun fact: more than 30 percent of the country's natural beauty is protected. You'll wake up from your bed to the howls of howler monkeys, and there's a good chance you'll encounter a raccoon or parrot during your morning walk. Costa Rica is the country you can't get enough of. Be sure to pack your shorts, because even in November, it's wonderfully warm in Costa Rica.
The Tango, friendly locals, and stunning scenery—you'll find it all in Argentina. It's no wonder many Dutch people decide to pack their backpacks and head to South America. As a tourist, there's so much to see; it's almost impossible to do it all in one trip. Relax on the beautiful beaches or take a walk through the breathtaking natural surroundings. Rent a car and travel to the capital, Buenos Aires. Enjoy a drink on a terrace or visit one of the many museums. The colorful streets alone are worth a visit.
Ecuador, a South American country named after its location, is Spanish for "Equator" (Ecuador lies precisely on the equator). This exotic country is known for its stunning natural beauty. With numerous active volcanoes and hot springs, it's a popular tourist destination. Besides its lush greenery, you can also visit colorful markets and historic villages. Tip: bring a raincoat in November, as it rains quite a bit this month.
November is neither too cold nor too hot in South Africa. During your stay in South Africa, you can spot the Big Five in several locations. Kruger National Park is perfect for this. You can join an organized tour, but it's also easy to explore with your own (rental) car. Want to reach the top of the world? Then plan a trip to the Sani Pass, an adventurous trek! November also sees the Roof of Africa: The Mother of Hard Enduro, as they call it.

South Africa
While Myanmar is called the "Jewel of Asia," Namibia is called the "Jewel of Africa." Once you learn more about the country and experience it for yourself, you'll understand why. Namibia boasts a vast desert, the Namib Desert. Did you know it's the oldest desert in the world? A magical place! There's no doubt about the summer temperatures; they'll reach a maximum of around 30 degrees Celsius and won't drop below 18 degrees Celsius. November is an ideal month; it certainly won't be too hot.
With an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, you'll be in good hands in Mauritius this month. This small island is barely bigger than Utrecht, but it has a lot to offer. Besides pristine white beaches, Mauritius also boasts beautiful waterfalls that are definitely worth a visit. Or visit the oldest tea plantation in Mauritius: the Bois Cheri Tea Plantation.
Travel to the world's most beautiful beaches: the Seychelles. November is a great time to visit; you won't experience extreme heat or cold. The weather will be calmer than other months, with a mix of tropical showers, sunshine, and sea breezes. Snorkeling, diving, and sunbathing: guaranteed enjoyment! You can make your trip as adventurous as you like.
In East Africa, you'll find a true gem of Africa, Uganda. Visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park? You might just come face to face with a mountain gorilla! We also recommend the enchanting Murchison Falls to complete your trip to this gem. Keep in mind that November can be quite rainy, with precipitation typically occurring for half the month. Of course, that shouldn't spoil the fun: so bring rain gear!
If you travel to Kenya in November, you have the chance to attend the Lamu Cultural Festival. It's the perfect opportunity to experience Kenya's culture and traditions! There's even a donkey race. Will you be there? The temperature won't be too hot or too cold, perfect conditions for exploring the country!
Zanzibar is world-famous for its beautiful sandy beaches; the beaches are almost nowhere as white, and the sea is almost nowhere as turquoise. Temperatures rarely drop below an average of 30 degrees Celsius in Zanzibar. November isn't the dry season, but it won't rain often or heavily. Besides the beautiful beaches, will you also visit the sea turtles on Prison Island?

Zanzibar
Cape Verde is high on the list of destinations for wintering outside the Netherlands. It's warm year-round and there's hardly any rain! A perfect combination for a holiday. Besides sun, sea, and sand, there's so much more to do. From horseback riding at sunset to climbing a volcano: what will you put on your itinerary?
November is the hottest month of the year, with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. The rainy season has just ended, so nature is still a wonderfully green. Fun fact: in the Bijilo Monkey Forest, as the name suggests, you can visit monkeys in complete freedom.
Traveling to Cuba in November means traveling to a diverse island with pleasant temperatures averaging 27 degrees Celsius. Choose one day to relax on the beach and the next to visit Cienfuegos and Trinidad, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. You'll also find a bustling port and stunning natural beauty. The better question is: what doesn't Cuba offer?
Attention diving enthusiasts! Bonaire is the island to visit if you love diving. The fact that it's a bit wetter in November doesn't matter at all! With temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, Bonaire is tropically warm. Bonaire is also wonderful for an adventurous hike or walk to the most beautiful viewpoints. In short, both the underwater world and the one above it are magnificent!
On the beautiful tropical island in the Caribbean, it's eternal summer. While the temperature in the Netherlands barely rises above ten degrees Celsius in November, it's a different story on Aruba. With an average temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, you only need to bring your summer clothes. And the rainy season, which starts in October, only has eight days of rain. That's nothing, right? Besides the pristine white beaches, you can't miss Aruba's highest point: Hooiberg. Brace yourself for the 600-step climb to the top!

aruba
Winter isn't a familiar concept in Curaçao. Escape the colder temperatures and enjoy a visit to this beautiful Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Besides sun, sea, and sand, this island offers much more. Delve into history and visit the Kura Hulanda Museum. Fancy a sporty and adventurous day? You can climb Mount Christoffel on this island. Your reward will be a magnificent view of all of Curaçao!
Want to avoid the busy tourist season and enjoy generally sunny weather? Then November is a great time to visit Mexico. This is especially true for Mexico City. Daytime temperatures will hover around 20 degrees Celsius, making it pleasant to explore the city. Revolution Day is celebrated on the third Monday in November. Events are organized throughout the country during this official holiday.
Traveling to Jordan in November? With an average high temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius, November is a great time to visit. It won't be too hot or icy cold. Ideal conditions for a hike to Petra, for example. When traveling to Jordan, Petra is an absolute must-see, as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A trip to Wadi Rum is also highly recommended.
Oman, the land of dates. For years, Oman exported vast quantities of dates. Over the years, Oman has developed into a modern country, yet with its own unique history. The inhabitants of this country still primarily wear traditional clothing. Men wear a dishdasha (a type of white dress). Women wear a jallabia (dress) over which they wear a thobe (overdress). Temperatures in Oman are high year-round, with temperatures rising to around 25 degrees Celsius in November. For those who want to avoid the cold winters of the Netherlands, Oman is a good holiday destination.
Dubai, a city that has quickly become one of the world's largest, is a city you won't easily be bored in. Climb the world's tallest skyscraper. Since 2007, this tower has offered a completely different perspective on the city, from a height of 828 meters! Of course, you can't leave Dubai without visiting one of the large shopping malls. Fed up with the hustle and bustle? Then book a safari and go on an adventure in the desert. Don't forget your hat and sunglasses, as the sun can be quite intense. With temperatures of over 30 degrees Celsius, a dip in the pool is also a must.

Dubai
Portugal is one of the few countries in Europe – you can count them on two hands – that's a wonderful place to visit in November. Did you know that even in November, it can be above 20 degrees Celsius? Wintering in Portugal isn't such a bad idea after all; you can recharge perfectly and then briefly experience winter in the Netherlands. Portugal offers fantastic surfing, but the Algarve is also known as the place to catch waves. These activities will keep you busy for a while!
Sicily, the Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. Anyone who's ever been to Sicily knows that there's nothing lacking in delicious food and conviviality. Besides the delicious food, this island boasts stunning scenery. Mount Etna is among the most active volcanoes in Europe. Even in November, you can still enjoy some sunshine in Sicily. The average temperature here ranges between 13 and 18 degrees Celsius. So you can leave those thick winter sweaters at home during a holiday to Sicily.
The beautiful islands west of Morocco together form the Canary Islands. These seven distinct islands each have their own unique charm. Are you a true nature lover? Then visit La Palma, with its beautiful hiking trails, where you can cover many miles. Want to be sure of some sunshine? Then fly to Tenerife. Thanks to the subtropical climate, it's practically always wonderfully warm here.
When you're going on a sunny holiday, the weather is of course very important. In Turkey, the average temperature is around 15 degrees Celsius. While this might not seem very pleasant at first glance, it can actually feel wonderful. The wind chill factor is higher in eastern Europe during the winter months than elsewhere in Europe. Even strolling along the promenade without a coat shouldn't be a problem. You wouldn't expect it, but in Turkey, it's possible to enjoy the sun and enjoy a winter sports holiday at the same time. In Antalya, you can start the day with a visit to the beach, then put on your ski gear in the late afternoon for some active pursuits. If you really want to take a dip, book accommodation with a heated pool. However, due to the cold water supply, it can be chilly.
Andalusia, the southern part of Spain, is a wonderful holiday destination even in November. Anyone who's ever been to Spain will experience the cheerful atmosphere on every corner. From tapas to sangria, Andalusia always has a summery vibe. The maximum temperature in November is still around 20 degrees Celsius. It's the ideal starting point for a visit to the cities of Malaga, Almería, and Cádiz.
Madeira, a beautiful island in the Atlantic Ocean. This colorful island is also known as the Flower Island because of its abundance of beautiful flowers. With its mild climate, it's also a wonderful holiday destination in November. Rent a car and embark on an adventure through the stunning natural surroundings. Don't forget your camera; spring seems to never end in Madeira. Not only nature is colorful; the streets and buildings in the capital, Funchal, are also adorned with striking hues.
Pyramids and pharaohs—you'll find them all in Egypt. Besides the magnificent culture, Egypt boasts several luxury resorts. Book an all-inclusive hotel and enjoy peace and quiet. In November, temperatures can still reach 25 degrees Celsius with the sun shining brightly, so don't forget your sunscreen. Besides beach loungers, you can also book various excursions. Take a dip in the deep to spot dolphins or journey through the desert on a camel.

Egypt
The streets of Marrakech, who hasn't heard of them? Anyone visiting this chaotic city can't miss the souks. A beautiful market where locals are ready to sell their wares. Think beautiful handmade rugs and fresh herbs. And we haven't even mentioned the decorations and the delicious aroma that permeates the narrow streets. Temperatures are pleasant in November. While it can reach 40 degrees Celsius in the summer, you can expect 20 degrees Celsius in November. Be aware, however, that the desert climate can cool down considerably at night. So, a sweater is definitely a must.
Winter sun is almost impossible to find in Europe. Yet, there are a few gems where you can catch that last bit of sun of the year, including Valencia. Average temperatures in November can still reach 20 degrees Celsius. An afternoon strolling along the boulevard in your denim jacket? That could easily become a reality in Valencia. A city break to Valencia during the winter months offers other advantages besides the beautiful weather. The lines at all the attractions are shorter, and you won't be walking around with sweaty armpits. Do you love atmosphere? Then you're in luck! During the winter months, the various fountains and buildings are decorated with the most beautiful lights, and the orange trees in the city are laden with fruit.
A city trip to Lisbon isn't just a summer affair these days. Even in November, the temperatures are wonderful, and you can enjoy the sun and a drink on a terrace. If you visit Lisbon in November, you can't escape all the delicacies. November 1st is a festive day, the Feast of All Saints, celebrated by many Christians in the city. The dead are remembered here in a cheerful and colorful way. The film festival kicks off in the second week of November. Various events and concerts are organized during this festival, and you can enjoy everything the city has to offer. In short, there's plenty to do in Lisbon in November.

Lisbon
When you think of Lapland, you think of reindeer sledding and the magnificent Northern Lights. It's no wonder Lapland is on the list of best destinations in November. Of course, there's much more to see in Lapland, namely snow and ice! A winter holiday in Lapland is more than just the slopes. Take a beautiful walk through the enchanted forests and, like an Inuit, walk towards the Northern Lights. Be sure to dress warmly! The icy temperatures in this country call for extra thick layers.
November might just be the best time to travel to Iceland. It's the height of winter in November, and snow is everywhere. Temperatures will be around freezing. Anyone who's been to Iceland can't miss the Northern Lights. You can see them in Reykjavik and Akureyi, among other places, but also at Lake Mývatn, also known as the volcanic lake.
Solden is certainly among the best ski resorts in the Alps. With a peak reaching almost 3,5 kilometers, fun is guaranteed. From October through April, you can enjoy snow and sun in this Austrian village. Solden is not only known for its beautiful slopes, but James Bond also spread his wings here. The landscape of Solden plays a major role in the James Bond film "Spectre." Several villagers were invited to participate in this spectacular film. It's no wonder that the name James Bond is such a big hit among villagers and holidaymakers alike.
Are you a true sports enthusiast? The village of Saas-Fee is a true snow paradise during the winter months. With 350 kilometers of hiking trails across the most impressive mountain landscapes, you're sure to be in the right place. The village of Saas-Fee is situated quite high. At an altitude of around 1800 meters, you'll feel like you're in a completely different world. Besides the beautiful nature with thick blankets of snow, you can visit the various pubs and discos in the evenings. And don't forget your ski gear; this Swiss village is the ultimate ski paradise.

Lapland
