Cocktails, relaxing in the garden, a leisurely lunch, or private dining: it's all possible at Villa Coucou. A tip: weather permitting, enjoy a three-course lunch in the garden. There, Chef Alex—who previously worked at Michelin-starred restaurants—cooks a magnificent meal.

In a somewhat forgotten city garden in the center of The Hague, you'll find Botanica – a place you absolutely mustn't miss! They cook sustainably here, using seasonal ingredients, as is customary. Our current favorites: the fluffy pancakes and the tuna melt sandwich.

Lapsang is a unique spot we've never seen before. During the day, you can enjoy delicious coffee, pastries, and unique sandwiches. In the evening, the place transforms into a wine bar (under a different ownership) with an equally distinctive atmosphere and Mediterranean delicacies.

Bartine's bread is irresistible, as are their Turkish Eggs and French Toast. It's best to go with a group and order the entire menu to share, as it's so hard to choose. Besides their extensive lunch menu, the pastries are also worth writing home about.

A café with a French twist like Le Petit Quartier simply can't fail to impress. We love the goat cheese salad here—a classic that always works, let's face it—and the croque monsieur is simply the chef's kiss.

Where to find a good poached egg, you ask? Walter Benedict is the place to be – one of The Hague's leading lunch spots. It'll take you right back to a French bistro, with all the dishes that come with it. Besides various types of eggs, they also have a great croque croque and fluffy pancakes. It just depends on what you're in the mood for.
