7 Places to Get the Best Coffee at Schiphol, Even for a Very Early Flight

Are you flying via Schiphol soon and want to know where to get really good coffee? These are the best places for coffee at Schiphol, tested by Your Little Black Book and handy to save for your next trip.

As a true coffee lover, I can tell you that I have tested almost every coffee shop at Schiphol. From the new Eataly to good old Starbucks or STACH, and from cappuccinos to iced lattes; it is often the first thing I get as soon as I am through security. Did you know that you can reserve a free time slot for security? Highly recommended, because you can easily do this online, and if the lines are unexpectedly longer, you'll be through in no time on your way to a good cup of coffee.

But where do you really get the best coffee, even if you have one of the very earliest flights? In this guide, I’ve listed it for you, including opening hours and location. These are the kinds of tips you’ll want to save for your next trip. Enjoy!

7 Best Coffees at Schiphol, including opening hours and what to order

The Cookie Man

Are you taking the train to Schiphol and want to grab a delicious coffee before heading to the departure hall? Then you need to visit Het Koekemannetje at Schiphol Plaza. If you want to really treat yourself, order a few of their divine cookies as well. You won't regret it, I can tell you. The cookies with white chocolate chunks are my favorite!

Good to know: Het Koekemannetje is open daily from 7:00 AM. View the location here >>

The Coffee Salon

This is your go-to for good coffee after security, even if you have a very early flight. The location after security is actually open from 4:00 AM. And I can tell you: this coffee spot has been my saving grace multiple times. They have good iced lattes, but also all kinds of other tasty coffees, such as espresso macchiatos, flat whites, and mochas.

Also nice: you can choose from various types of milk, from non-fat to soy and Oatly. De Koffiesalon has multiple locations at Schiphol, including two at Schiphol Plaza. One of these is open as early as 6:00 AM. View all locations here >>

Insider tip: I always take my coffee to the section behind the Holland Boulevard, near the Rituals store.
There are lovely lounge chairs with a view of the arriving and departing planes.

Joe & The Juice

If you enjoy a perfectly pressed smoothie or juice alongside your coffee, Joe & The Juice is the place at Schiphol you'll want to remember. On my way to gates D1-D57, E, F, G, or H, this is my go-to hotspot for grabbing a tasty snack. Although you can also sit down quietly at the high tables while your order is freshly prepared for you.

When it comes to coffee, they make the best iced lattes here, and you've also come to the right place for a perfectly brewed matcha. I'm definitely going to make a list of the best sandwich tips later, but I can't resist recommending the Tunacado sandwich already. It is *so* good! Joe & The Juice is open from 6:30 AM. STACH

Once started with just one shop in Amsterdam, it is now one of the nicest coffee chains in the Netherlands. So it is good news that they now have four locations at Schiphol. At Schiphol Plaza, you can even visit STACH 24/7 for coffee and a treat. They also have very tasty matcha!

After security, you have several options to grab a coffee at STACH. Are you flying with a low-cost airline from the M-gates? Then this is definitely the address you want to remember; they are open from 4:30 AM. But my favorite coffee spot is definitely the one at the Holland Boulevard (open from 6:30 AM).

I often go for a classic cappuccino, but they also regularly have delicious seasonal flavors, like the one with coconut recently. And everything can be made decaf! Insider tip: I always take my coffee to the section behind the Holland Boulevard, near the Rituals store. There are lovely lounge chairs there with a view of the arriving and departing planes. Starbucks

Where would we be without Starbucks at Schiphol? The go-to place for delicious specialty coffees, no matter where your flight is going. My go-to order is definitely a skinny iced latte, but I do occasionally make an exception for the seasonal flavors. Especially around the holidays and when there is something with pistachio on the menu.

There are seven different Starbucks locations at Schiphol, so you can always find one nearby before or after security. Flying within Europe? Then the new location with a view of the Maarten Baas clock is a very pleasant place to sit before heading to the gate. This location is even open 24/7. Good to know: the other locations after security open between 04:00 and 06:30! View all Starbucks locations at Schiphol here >>

Eataly

I am still beyond excited that the first Eataly location can now be found in the Netherlands. And at Schiphol, no less! You can head here as early as 4:00 AM for good coffee, but promise me you'll order something tasty to go with it. The Italian sweets they have here are truly hard to resist ;-). The cannolo are absolutely delicious! Can't start the day without a real Italian espresso? Then you've come to the right place.

The baristas prepare all the coffee fresh right in front of you, and you can taste it. Around the Eataly, there are also many places to sit quietly for a moment and make a plan for what else you are going to do at Schiphol. One of the best-kept secrets, by the way, is the Mind Oasis Spa, right opposite Eataly in the Rituals store. There you can get a massage, fully clothed, to start your journey completely relaxed. Lavazza

Perhaps one of my best tips for Schiphol is not to forget that there are also plenty of nice places to eat and drink on the first floor. It is often much quieter here at any time of day, and I can always find a nice spot there.

Flying intercontinentally? Then you won't want to miss the Lavazza location on the first floor. Another plus: this coffee spot is open from 7:00 AM. This is the place to go for classic coffees, but also for latte macchiatos, ristrettos, and rotating coffee specials. View all locations at Schiphol here >>

 | TIPS FOR PARKING AT SCHIPHOL: Are you arriving by car? Then you have two good options. P3 Long-Term Parking is the most affordable choice. Available as a covered garage or open lot, with a free shuttle every 10 minutes that takes you to the terminal within 5 minutes. Want it even easier? Then choose P6 Valet Parking: you drive up, hand over your keys, and walk directly to the departure hall via a covered route. Convenient: P6 also has charging stations for electric cars. Reservations for P6 are mandatory, but always recommended for P3. Click here for more information & reservations >>
