A city trip to Amsterdam is always fun, even with the kids. And if you live in the city like me, there's nothing more fun than staying together in these child-friendly hotels in Amsterdam. My personal tips for a kid-friendly staycation! Enjoy a day of shopping, visiting museums, strolling along the canals, taking a boat trip, going to a playground, and eating bitterballen together. There's plenty to do with kids in Amsterdam. I've often been asked which hotels in Amsterdam are the most child-friendly, so it was time to create this (fairly) comprehensive overview for you. Because let's be honest, when you're traveling with children, you tend to pay more attention to things when booking a hotel. With a baby, you can go almost anywhere with a crib in the room, but with older children, you sometimes need that little bit extra. So read on for the best child-friendly hotels in Amsterdam.

Come with me to get breakfast in Taipei 🥢
Straight from the airport to this little place to taste soup dumplings and so much more! That's what I call a soft landing 😉 <3
In Taipei, you go to a Soy Milk Shop for breakfast. Warm soy milk to eat in a bowl, and steam baskets with the tastiest dumplings and baozi. You can really wake me up for this kind of breakfast. These local breakfast spots come in all shapes and sizes, from Michelin-recommended spots to hole-in-the-wall stalls.
Most soy milk shops open early (and sometimes even 24 hours a day), and these are the dishes you want to try:
🥄 Warm soy milk
🥢 Soup dumplings (you can often choose between pork and veggies)
🥢 Pork baozi
🥢 Youtiao (油條 - a kind of fried donut stick)
🥢 Youtiao (油條) w/ pork floss & rice
🥢 Turnip cake
🥢 Chives pancake
🥢 Scallion pancake
TIP: Sharing is a good idea to taste as much as possible, because the portions are (often) large.
You'll want to remember these soy milk shops for your future trip to Taipei:
📍Fuhang Soy Milk
📍Soy Milk Shop
📍Yong He Soya Milk King (Da'an)
📍Sihai Soy Milk
I am currently touring Taiwan, and you can also find all the tips in my Stories Highlight.
Have you ever been to Taiwan? I'm curious if you thought it was *that* amazing!

Just back from Catalonia and I thought: I'll share some tips right away.
During our road trip, we stayed two nights in the Ebro Delta. An incredibly fun stop for families and foodies, where there is plenty to do.
• A boat trip to the Musclarium is a must! Here you eat oysters and mussels straight from the farm, in the middle of the sea.
· Admire the flamingos and black ibises that can be found here all year round.
· Rice is grown in the Ebro Delta all year round. For paella, but Kensho also makes sake and miso from it! You can visit them during a tasting.
Cycling along the rice fields, canoeing on the Ebro River, and visiting various beaches. It was still a bit too cold right now, but there is plenty to do.
• The towns are very low-key and not that exciting, but you can find fantastic local food there. From the Michelin-awarded Les Moles* to local eateries like Vermuteria Bonmarisc and Lo Tinglado. We ate a lot of fish, but also anemone fritters (a first!).
Now back to work, and I’m going to create an extensive travel guide of this road trip through Catalonia, but you’ll want to save these tips for a future adventure.

A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?
🍴 Labskaus with caviar
🍴 Enleta waffle with Pfalz vinegar
🍴 Game pie
🍴 Dry aged Duck
TIP: If you go to Sühring, reserve the seats at the kitchen bar so you have a view of the chefs at work!

In this reels I take you along for fine dining in Bangkok at the three Michelin starred restaurant Sühring.

The Unbound is a cozy, small-scale, and trendy holiday park in Geuzenveld-Slotermeer with various chalets and studios. It's an ultra-modern and inviting park with several tiny houses. Most houses have multiple bedrooms, and some even have a living room with a kitchen complete with a dishwasher. There are also studios with one bedroom and a hot tub. The chalets have a private terrace, so children can play outside. The hotel has its own restaurant, and room service is also available. Cribs for children under 2 years old can be requested free of charge, but are subject to availability. A real plus for this modern, natural hotel is the sauna. There's a swimming pond, and in the summer, the mini beach with sunbeds is a wonderful place to relax.

Why get on a plane when you can experience a taste of Indonesia right here in Amsterdam? Hotel Jakarta is a stunningly beautiful hotel on the IJ River with a tropical courtyard, a delicious restaurant, a wellness area, and much more. This is one of the best family-friendly hotels in Amsterdam and a favorite with my son Manuel. The hotel is hypoallergenic, has a child-friendly buffet and kid-friendly meals in the restaurant, and also offers room service. The heated pool has a shallow end, and for €25 per night, you can request a crib (ages 0-2). Parking is easily accessible underneath the hotel, which is also great with kids and suitcases!

Another beautiful waterfront hotel, but this time in Westerpark in the De Houthavens district, is Boat & COThis hotel offers studios and multi-bedroom apartments, making it one of the best child-friendly hotels in Amsterdam in my opinion. For children aged 0-2, you can request a crib free of charge. Children aged 3 and older can get an extra bed for €35 per night. The hotel has its own restaurant, Vesper, which also serves children's meals. In the summer, there's a lovely large terrace! You can use the hotel's room service, and they even offer a grocery shopping service for an additional fee. If you're missing anything, you'll have it in no time.

Stylish and sleekly decorated, right on Dam Square and one of the best child-friendly hotels in Amsterdam city center, that must be Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam The hotel offers family rooms and also offers connecting rooms for a little more privacy. Children's meals can be prepared in the restaurant, and breakfast can also be served in the room. If you choose a room with breakfast included, one child up to 11 years old stays free, and children up to 12 pay half the price for breakfast. The hotel has a childcare facility, and strollers are also available for rent.

Just a few hundred meters from Artis Zoo is the brand new and super luxurious Pillows Maurits at the Park The hotel has a beautiful, large garden with a terrace. All double rooms are hypoallergenic, and for €25 per night, you can add a crib. Check which room you choose to see if more than one bed can be added, based on availability. Child-friendly meals are available in the restaurant, and you can use the babysitting service for a fee. I would definitely recommend this, as the hotel's Oost restaurant is incredibly good. Breakfast can also be served in your room. Ideal for a relaxing start to the morning with the kids.

You wouldn't expect it from the outside, but The Volkshotel Amsterdam East is super hip, and your stay here will spark plenty of creative ideas. If you're looking for a hotel with a young vibe that's also fun for parents, this hotel is perfect. The hotel has its own rooftop bar, where you can enjoy a lively atmosphere in the evenings or play a game with the kids in the café downstairs. Family rooms are available for three to four people, and you can request a crib for a child up to two years old. An extra bed is not possible, so be sure to check the room type you book. There's also a sauna and hot tub on the rooftop! Oosterpark is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and there you'll find several fun playgrounds for the kids, as well as the Wereldmuseum (formerly known as the Tropenmuseum). You guessed it, Park Plaza Vondelpark The hotel is conveniently located near Vondelpark, a great place to spend time with children. A stroll here, a picnic there, and your day will fly by. The hotel offers both family rooms and family studios and suites. Childcare is available for a fee, and the hotel restaurant also offers room service. Restaurant Tozi serves delicious Italian food, and kids can make their own pizza. I've stayed at Park Plaza Vondelpark several times with my family, and it's a wonderful base for a weekend in Amsterdam. For children aged 0-2, you can request a crib free of charge. The number of cribs depends on the room you've booked, so be sure to check carefully. Prefer not to go to the on-site restaurant? No worries, there are plenty of delicious restaurants and cafés nearby, such as the child-friendly De Vondeltuin.

What Okura Hotel What makes De Pijp one of the best hotels in Amsterdam for families with children is the family package. This includes two adjoining rooms for four people, so you can still enjoy your own space when the kids are in bed. You can also opt for one of the suites. This beautiful Japanese-style hotel has a spa with a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, perfect for children. The hotel offers children's meals and babysitting services (for a fee). I would definitely recommend this, as the hotel is home to several Michelin-starred restaurants. There's a small petting zoo right next door, and within walking distance are Sarphatipark, with a fun playground and the lively Albert Cuyp market.

Right on the canal in the center of Amsterdam is the chic Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam It's a place I love to visit, especially with the kids for afternoon tea. It's one of the most luxurious hotels in Amsterdam, so staying here certainly isn't for everyone. But if you ever have the chance, I can tell you from experience that it's like stepping into another world. You'll want for nothing! The hotel has spacious, naturally lit rooms, several restaurants, a cocktail bar, a swimming pool, and family rooms. An extra bed can be added free of charge for children aged 0-2 and 3-17. The heated pool is accessible to all ages, and you can also use the hotel's babysitting service for an additional fee. I definitely recommend taking advantage of this, because if you're going all-in on a hotel stay, a dinner for two without the kids at Spectrum** is simply a must.

Despite The Hoxton While it's not entirely focused on kids, it's still a perfect place to stay with your little one. When Manuel was still a baby, I often stayed here myself, and everything was perfectly arranged. Both a crib for children up to 2 years old and an extra bed for children up to 12 years old can be added to your room free of charge. Enter your child's age in your search to see exactly what options are available. Lotti's is the hotel's on-site restaurant. There's also a bar, so don't forget your baby monitor and treat yourself to a cocktail, I'd say.

I often get asked about budget hotels to stay with kids. And as you may have already seen in this list, most of the really nice hotels aren't the cheapest. That's why this list includes the (still relatively new) Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam That's a far cry from the image you once had of this chain. Except for the schnitzels, that is… they're definitely the same and still on the menu. Thanks to the large number of family rooms, it's definitely a kid-friendly hotel in Amsterdam, and also more budget-friendly. The interior is modern and looks really nice, as does the restaurant. There's also a spa and a swimming pool. There are double and triple rooms, as well as family suites with bunk beds. A child's dream! The hotel has an à la carte restaurant with something for everyone. The hotel is located near Amstelpark, where there's a fun playground for kids and a wide range of activities. The kid-friendly 'museum' is also a must-see. The Upside Down is not far from the hotel where you can immerse yourself in different rooms full of illusions and take fun photos together.

Living with kids is expensive enough, so among all these luxury hotels, I'd also like to recommend a budget-friendly hotel in Amsterdam for kids. Motel One is one of the best child-friendly hotels in Amsterdam for a smaller budget. I've stayed at this chain in Berlin before, and in terms of value for money, it's truly excellent. Especially if you won't be spending much time in your room because you're exploring Amsterdam with the kids. In Amsterdam, the budget design hotel Motel One has no fewer than two locations: one near The Rai and one at WaterloopleinYou can request a crib or extra bed for children up to 11 years old free of charge. The hotels have modern and colorful decor, and the location near Waterlooplein is particularly central.

With a beautiful view over the water, mega large and bright rooms and a sunny terrace, you are in the right place Hilton Amsterdam Great with kids. The hotel is quietly located in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid on the Noorder Amstelkanaal, and parking is easy. The hotel has a connecting family room, which is practically its own little house. Although the bar and restaurants could use some updating, the rooms have been renovated and are truly very comfortable. We stayed here once with Manuel, and it was incredibly fun and kid-friendly. They even had a teepee tent in the room for him and several toys. For ages 0-3, you can request a crib, and for ages 4+, a free bed is provided. If you want a quiet dinner together, you can have room service delivered to your room for the kids and eat together. Afterward, you can arrange for a babysitter through the hotel for a fee, and then you can enjoy a leisurely meal at Roberto's Italian restaurant. Here you can sample traditional Italian dishes. You can also arrange a boat tour through the hotel for a private canal cruise. Highly recommended!

A triple room in the Conscious Hotel Westerpark is the perfect place to stay. The rooms are modern, minimalist, and sleekly furnished. A cot (ages 1-2) costs €10 per night. The hotel has a Conscious Cafe, as well as a restaurant with a lovely sunny terrace in the warmer months. There's always something tasty on the menu for the kids. The hotel has a mini-market with all the essentials, in case you've forgotten anything. As I mentioned earlier, you don't have to look far for entertainment; the Sunday Market, which is regularly held at the Westergas complex, is also highly recommended. You can reach the city center in no time by public transport or bike.

Inn on the Lake is an idyllic spot just outside Amsterdam in Broek in Waterland. This dreamy villa has a rustic style and is incredibly charmingly decorated. Manuel and I once cycled here from Amsterdam to stay. That alone was a wonderful experience! Besides being a romantic getaway for two, it's also a kid-friendly hotel in the countryside near Amsterdam. There are not only quadruple rooms but also a family bungalow. For €20 per night, you can add a crib, and for children up to 12, an extra bed costs €30. You'll never be bored here. There's plenty to do in the surrounding area, but also in the hotel itself. There's a hot tub overlooking the water, and you can also take a scenic boat trip to places like Theetuin Overleek.

Amsterdam Noord is actually a wonderful place. Just outside the hustle and bustle, yet with plenty of great restaurants and cafes nearby. Just outside Amsterdam Noord is one of the nicest child-friendly accommodations: Amsterdam Farm LodgeThis is a fantastic place, especially for families with toddlers, to experience farm life. Chickens and pigs graze happily in the meadow. The Farm Lodge offers apartments with two or three bedrooms. You can request a free crib (ages 0-2), and there are also rooms with bunk beds. There's a private playground, picnic area, and barbecue. The nearest restaurant is only 200 meters away. Believe me, you'll feel like you're completely out of the city here, even though fun places like the NDSM wharf are just around the corner. Street Museum and for example WONDR Experience can be found within cycling distance.

Europarcs Gate of Amsterdam is a paradise for children, and secretly for parents too. Especially if the kids have their swimming certificates, or if not, bring their life jackets! The park is located directly on the Markermeer, which is naturally a wonderful spot for water sports in the summer. And yet, it's only a half-hour drive from Amsterdam city center, making it a perfect base for exploring Amsterdam with the kids. The holiday park has an indoor pool, a playground, and a restaurant. There are cottages with 2 to 9 bedrooms, making it perfect for a weekend getaway with family or friends who also have children. There are also bungalows with a private sauna and an enclosed garden for extra safety with young children.
