@eetcafe_de_reiger is the spot to remember.
Cozy, casual, and a seasonal menu. This one was on my list to share for a year and finally it's (almost) asparagus season again! 🤤
Another plus? Prices are very reasonable here!
📍 Eetcafé de Reiger

A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?
🍴 Labskaus with caviar
🍴 Enleta waffle with Pfalz vinegar
🍴 Game pie
🍴 Dry aged Duck
TIP: If you go to Sühring, reserve the seats at the kitchen bar so you have a view of the chefs at work!

In this reels I take you along for fine dining in Bangkok at the three Michelin starred restaurant Sühring.

This is one of the nicest free outings in the spring! Did you know that you can gather (or pick, for the connoisseurs 😉) oysters yourself in various places in the Netherlands? I’m in Zeeland for a bit this weekend, and if we can, we’ll go again.
📍In this video, I show where you can fill your bucket.
Comment oester for the comprehensive guide with all details about all 8 locations + handy tips and rules.
Important to know:
– Max. 10 kilos per person (≈ 1 bucket)
– For personal use only
– Do not scoop or scrape the soil
– Go at low tide
Handy to take with you:
Bucket, screwdriver, boots, work gloves, tea towel, clean clothes and garbage bags (for the oysters and dirty clothes).
And of course: also bring an oyster knife, lemon and champagne 🍋🥂Because you want to taste something right away!
The oyster season runs from September to about April / early May, so now that the water isn't so cold, this is the perfect outing.
In the full guide, I share exactly where you can easily find them without much effort. Leave a comment and I'll send it to you right away!
Who do you want to go oyster collecting with soon?

Sweet House + White House Zeeland (Waterland Church): Two picturesque cottages bordering the same garden. Looking to get away from it all and enjoy some peace and quiet? Waterlandkerkje is a village surrounded by meadows and nature with only a few houses. It's close to the Belgian border and the Zeeland beaches of Cadzand (20 minutes' drive) or Breskens (15 minutes' drive). It's also perfect for booking with friends so you each stay in your own cottage.

Largo Beach House Zeeland (Vlissingen): If you stay here, you'll sleep in a beach house on Nollenstrand with a sea view. Imagine how special that will be? Waking up and walking straight into the sea, or taking a stroll along the beach when no one's there yet. The houses sleep four to five people and are fully equipped, including a bathroom and kitchen.

C-view (Cadzand): Planning a weekend getaway to Zeeland with the whole family or friends? Cadzand is one of the most charming seaside resorts in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, with plenty of culinary delights and a beautiful, expansive beach. This four-room apartment is wonderfully luxurious and overlooks the sea.

© C-view
Z'ANDvillas (Kamperland): These villas are nestled in the dunes near Kamperland, between the Veerse Meer lake and Neetje Jans. Wonderfully luxurious, with large sliding doors leading to the terrace and fully equipped. The beautiful Banjaard beach is just a few kilometers away. Tip: rent bikes at the property.

Zeeland Cottage (Nieuwerkerk): Did you know that "kot" is the Zeeland word for "cottage"? This charmingly furnished apartment is located in Schouwen en Duivenland, near a wine farm, a cheese farm, and the charming town of Zierikzee. This B&B has its own kitchenette, so you can cook at home after a day out and about.

© Zeeuws Kot
Forest and Dunes (Dishoek): This white holiday cottage is nestled right behind the dunes of Dishoek beach. It has two bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of two adults and four children. Situated in the Vebena Forest, it's a wonderful base for exploring Walcheren in both summer and autumn. In summer, you can be on the beach in no time, and in autumn, after a walk on the beach, curl up by the wood-burning stove with a good book.

© Forest and Dune
Hof Olmenstein (Goes): This cozy apartment-hotel is located on the outskirts of Goes. You can stay in one of the rooms, or book a private apartment. There's a hot tub, a tea garden, and barbecue facilities in the summer. After an afternoon exploring the city or relaxing at the beach, you'll find yourself returning to an oasis of tranquility.

© Hof Olmenstein
Food source Gray (Graauw): How fun and unique does that sound? Staying in a safari tent surrounded by fruit trees? It's possible at Voedselbron Graauw in Zeeland Flanders. The safari tents are fully furnished, but the restrooms are shared. You can do your grocery shopping for dinner at the farm shop.

The Lordship of Noordwelle (Noordwelle): Fingers crossed for good weather, as we'll be checking in here in mid-July. If you didn't know better, you'd think you were abroad with the palm trees, cottages, and swimming pool. This boutique hotel is located between Burgh Haamstede and Renesse and is a great base for exploring Zeeland. Good to know: this hotel is adults-only.
Dorpsring 29, 4326 AC Noordwelle

The Beach Hotel (Cadzand-Bad): Staying at Het Strandhotel is still high on my bucket list. When I tell you this hotel is part of the famous restaurants, like Sergio Herman's Pure C, you'll understand why. You can book various packages, but you can also reserve a single room. The rooms are modern yet warmly decorated, and the balcony or terrace (also available with a sea view) features Piet Boon furniture.

© The Beach Hotel
Hotel Katoen (Goes): This modern boutique hotel is located in the center of Goes, within walking distance of various restaurants and shops. They have just 23 rooms, all wonderfully comfortable in both summer and winter. In good weather, the terrace is a wonderful place to relax. Fancy a meal out in the evening? Book a table at the hotel's brasserie.
Bleekveld 9, Goes, Netherlands

Night in the Church (Vrouwenpolder): When I was little, we had a beach house in Vrouwenpolder. The beach is expansive and, by Zeeland standards, relatively quiet in the summer. From the dike, you can see the North Sea on one side and the Veerse Meer and Veere on the other. A unique place to stay in Vrouwenpolder is Nachtje in de Kerk (Night in the Church), where you stay—you guessed it—in an old church. The B&B has four rooms and is within walking distance of the beach.

© Night in the Church
B&B France North (Westkapelle): Standing at the top of the Westkapelle dike, you have a magnificent view over the red roofs of the picturesque village and its lighthouse at the very tip of Walcheren. The B&B, housed in a former barn, has four rooms and a shared living room. The "boxes," as the rooms are called, are all uniquely decorated and offer slightly different amenities. When I mentioned this gem, I immediately thought: how wonderful would it be to rent this entire B&B for a weekend with friends? Plenty of space to maintain distance, yet still be away together!

© B&B France North
In the Morelleput (Nieuwvliet): The village of Nieuwvliet probably doesn't ring a bell. It doesn't ring a bell for me either. But if I mention Zeeland Flanders, Breskens, and Cadzand, you'll probably get a sense of what's going on. Although, it's debatable whether you'll want to leave the grounds of this B&B. In the morning, you can wake up peacefully in one of the four rooms and then start your day with a delicious organic breakfast. There's also a cozy tea garden where you can enjoy a drink and a bite to eat.

© In the Morelleput
Hotel The Roosevelt (Middelburg): In the heart of Middelburg, you'll be awakened in the morning by the bells of the Lange Jan church. If there's one hotel in Middelburg you'd want to stay at, it's Boutique Hotel The Roosevelt, with 28 uniquely decorated rooms. On their website, you can choose the room that best suits your personal taste! And you don't even have to leave the hotel for delicious food. The eponymous restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and is also a favorite with locals.

The Zeeland Heaven (Zierikzee): Although they also have family rooms, this is a wonderful place for a romantic weekend getaway. The hotel's garden is one of the city's hidden gems, perfect for enjoying drinks or a meal. In the evening, you'll sleep under the authentic beamed ceilings of this historic building in the heart of the city.
Melkmarkt 8, Zierikzee, Netherlands

Hoteldebeautel (Vlissingen): This small boutique hotel is located behind the boulevard (with beach!) in Vlissingen. The spacious rooms are equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. From Vlissingen, you can also quickly reach the popular beach of Dishoek or the seaside resorts of Zoutelande and Domburg.

© Hoteldebeautel
Dune Hotel Tien Torens (Zoutelande): How cool does this "green" hotel look? I should actually say apartment-hotel, because you can also book lodges with private kitchens. There are family rooms, double rooms, and dogs are welcome upon request. The hotel is located right behind the Zoutelande dunes, just 400 meters from the beach.

© Duinhotel Tien Torens
Pier7 (Vlissingen): At Pier7, you'll be staying right on the beach at the eponymous beach club. The studios are suitable for two adults and one child (cribs available upon request) and feature a private terrace with a sea view. Fingers crossed for a beautiful summer, because then it's a wonderful place to be at the foot of Vlissingen's boulevard. If, like me, you have a small child, I can easily imagine them marveling at the large container ships sailing past the harbor of Vlissingen through the shipping channel near the beach.

© Pier7
Guesthouse Ensenada (Schoondijke): You'd almost think it was a finca in the Spanish countryside, but this guesthouse is actually located in Zeeland Flanders. It's a great base for various day trips, such as Cadzand, Knokke, Antwerp, or Bruges. All rooms are uniquely decorated in a warm Mediterranean style.
Lange Heerenstraat 71, Schoondijke, Netherlands

© Guesthouse Ensenada
Hotel de Blanke Top (Cadzand-Bad): Looking at this hotel's spa, you might think it's primarily a couples-friendly hotel. But that's not entirely true; they have a playroom for kids and family rooms. Cadzand-Bad is high on my staycation list for this summer. Hotel de Blanke T has its own restaurant, but there are plenty of options for dinner in the village.

© Hotel de Blanke Top
Boutique Hotel Franklin (Middelburg): This new boutique hotel, with its cozy brasserie and cocktail bar, has just opened its doors on the historic Vlasmarkt in the heart of Middelburg. The fourteen luxury suites are all uniquely decorated with meticulous attention to detail. A family suite is also available.
Vlasmarkt 54, Middelburg, Netherlands

Boutique Hotel Zeeuws-Meisje (Zierikzee): Oh, Zierikzee... you're so cute! Schouwen-Duivenland is a lovely peninsula for a weekend getaway. Walk in the woods or spend an afternoon at the beach. Shop at Zierikzee's boutiques and enjoy a meal on a terrace. Boutique Hotel Zeeuws-Meisje is located by the harbor and looks fantastic. Decorated with unique finds, it's colorful and classic. Good to know: they also have family rooms.

© Boutique Hotel Zeeland Girl
Villa Magnolia (Oostkapelle): We used to go to the beach at Oostkapelle all the time, and whenever we drove past Villa Magnolia, I always thought of Villa Kakelbont. Breakfast in the winter garden in the morning, a day at the beach or something fun to do in Walcheren, and in the evening, a visit to a nice restaurant in Domburg. Family rooms and a two-bedroom cottage are also available.
