When I'm busy planning my next trip and scouring the internet for sun-drenched hotels, I can almost feel the sun on my skin. First of all: thank you for being here to close out 2025 <3.
2025, you were everything I hoped you would be and more. So many new memories.
I don't yet know what 2026 will bring, but last year was one for the books. Highlights included trips to China, Mexico City, Egypt, and exploring the English countryside.
Entrepreneurs probably recognize that 2025 was not an easy year.
When I started Your Little Black Book, I had one dream: not to work to stay somewhere for free in exchange for content and the pressure of a "picture perfect" experience. But to use my revenue models to book and experience those special places myself, as a guest instead of an influencer, and to give you honest tips.
After almost 15 years of entrepreneurship, I'm so happy with the balance between editorial and commercial work and that I can also say no to things that don't feel right.
At the same time, it's still special that destinations, airlines, and hotels hire me to create a customized Little Black Book for them. I have complete freedom with these campaigns, and I believe in the value of these content-based tips that truly suit your taste. And they come from me personally, not from a machine.

This will always be my dream job, the one I created almost 15 years ago. I still do as much as possible myself. That's energizing—from both successes and failures.

Hotel San Roque
Boutique hotels like this are precisely why we miss traveling so much. Staying in an 18th-century terracotta-colored mansion with twenty uniquely decorated rooms surrounding a swimming pool. The pool is heated year-round, and you can also use the private sauna. The rooms look stunning, with an eye for detail, including art, authentic details, and designer furniture. Hotel San Rogue is adults-only and is located in the cultural and artistic town of Garachico, where you can easily walk to nice restaurants in the evening.

The Laguna Grand Hotel
The town of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, where La Laguna Gran Hotel is located, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the rooftop terrace, you have a stunning view over the city's historic rooftops. The 123-room hotel is housed in a beautifully renovated old mansion. A lovely blend of styles, with colonial details, velvet sofas, and plenty of wood. Part of the hotel was formerly a tobacco warehouse, and the courtyard of the mansion now houses a stylish lobby. This charming boutique hotel boasts a rooftop pool, and foodies can indulge themselves, as the hotel also serves delicious meals.

Although they are not yet open to tourists again at the time of writing, they are a must-see on this list. A project with a high WOW factor. Staying in one of the villas of ITER Bioclimatic Houses Then you'll be staying completely climate-neutral. Each villa is situated on a cliff overlooking the sea, unique in style, and suitable for four to seven people. The villa park is a showcase for future architecture, where new ways of climate-neutral living are being put to the test. About a ten-minute walk from the villas, you'll find an off-the-beaten-path beach where you'll encounter few other tourists.

It's no secret that I have a soft spot for unique hotels. And while staying here for ten days might be a bit over your budget, there's no better treat for yourself after a year of hard work than a few days in a luxury hotel. We often do this at the beginning or end of a trip, choosing to stay solely in the hotel. Slow down, let go of everything at home, or simply reflect on the wonderful journey you've just completed. But above all: enjoy the luxury and amenities the hotel has to offer. One such hotel is perfect for this. The Ritz Tenerife. You might not always expect it, but these kinds of luxury hotels are very much geared towards children, and nothing is too much trouble. There are several restaurants, from those awarded two Michelin stars (childcare can be arranged!) to a beach club and a bar where you can enjoy an evening cocktail. Hotel rural La Quinta Roja
Hotel Rural La Quonta Roja is a colorful heritage boutique hotel located on Plaza de la Libertad in the port town of Garachico. The hotel doesn't have a pool, but Garachico's rock pools are within walking distance. Several lovely restaurants are also nearby. The hotel's atmosphere exudes a rich past, reflected in various elements, such as the wood carvings and wooden floors. While the hotel doesn't necessarily have facilities for children, families are more than welcome. The junior suites have a sofa bed, making them perfect for families with young children.
