FollowPhu Quoc (also written as Phu Quoc) Vietnam is a wonderful island to relax on after your tour of this beautiful country. It's less than an hour's flight from Ho Chi Minh City (which South Vietnamese still prefer to call Saigon), and with budget airlines like VietJet, you can fly there for less than 50 euros. If you're flying with a budget airline, be sure to check the baggage regulations carefully, as most cheap tickets are sold without baggage.
I love visiting places that aren't widely discussed, and Phu Quoc Island is definitely one of them. If you're researching a trip to Vietnam, you'll definitely come across it, but chances are you've never heard of it before. There's a lot of construction going on at the moment, and I feel like this is the perfect time to vacation on this island before the influx of Western tourists.
There's certainly no shortage of beautiful hotels on Phu Quoc Island! I recently spent a week there to de-stress from daily life in Amsterdam, and in this blog post, I'll list three of the best hotels on Phu Quoc, Vietnam, in various price ranges. There's something for every budget, but of course, you can always find accommodation online that fits your budget even better if you don't necessarily want to stay in a designer hostel or boutique hotel on Phu Quoc, Vietnam. I mean, budget is a relative term and depends entirely on the type of trip you're on. Phu Quoc is an island that's very popular, for example, with expats in Asia who want to relax on the beach for a weekend in a luxury hotel, and with backpackers on a tour of Indochina who end their trip on an island.
Are you looking for a hotel on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam? During my time on Phu Quoc, I stayed in some of the most beautiful hotels, which, in all the years I've traveled for Your Little Black Book, are definitely in my personal top 10 for service and ambiance. Phu Quoc in Vietnam is an island with several microclimates. So keep the following in mind when booking your hotel: in the dry season, the sea is calm and azure on the side of the capital, Dương Đông (Duong Dong), and in the rainy season, the sea is calm and clear blue on the side of Sao Beach (at least, if it's not raining!). I was there during the rainy season and found it very pleasant on the island between showers! But... you have to be lucky, of course. That's why I always recommend a hotel with a nice pool and a good spa nearby for ultimate relaxation!
As I mentioned before, I visited Phu Quoc during the rainy season, and because it's low season, hotels offer different prices, sometimes up to three times cheaper. So always check the rates for the period you're planning to travel to Vietnam. In our opinion, these are the best hotels on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam.
9Station Hostel // €
Poshtels, or posh hostels, are popping up all over the world and on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, the trendy boutique hostel is 9Station Hostel A fun and affordable place to stay. The rooms are simple, but the common areas are nicely decorated with an industrial touch and local materials like bamboo and lots of wood. 9Station Hostel on Phu Quoc also has a small but nice pool to relax in after a long flight or a day of scootering around the island. Regarding rooms, you can, of course, book a (bunk) bed in a dormitory (they also have a female-only dormitory), but for those who have outgrown that, the double rooms are recommended!

MGallery La Veranda Resort & Spa // €€
The MGallery La Veranda hotel on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam is without a doubt one of the most beautiful beachfront boutique hotels I've ever stayed in. A resort with "only" 70 rooms spread across several low-rise buildings, all built in the French colonial style. This gives it a unique feel. MGallery La Veranda on Pu Quoc Island A true home away from home. The country house is inspired by owner Madame Catherine's childhood home in Cambodia and has been decorated with a personal touch. Throughout the hotel, you'll find that personal touch and taste, and every effort is made to operate sustainably. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which offers direct access to the garden or the beach. Yoga is offered daily at the hotel, and the Pepper Tree restaurant is highly recommended for a gourmet dinner, even if you're not staying there. JW Marriot Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa // €€€
With 244 rooms, the JW Marriott Phu Quoc resort in Emerald Bay is smaller than, say, the MGallery La Veranda Hotel, but my, oh my, it's so stunningly beautiful! It's the kind of hotel where, during your stay, you'll secretly be making plans for your return, because the atmosphere is so relaxed that you'll completely unwind. The hotel's design is quite unique. It was built on the site of the pre-war Lamarck University. Unfortunately, this university was destroyed during the war, but JW Marriott Phu Quoc is built in the same style. The university theme is reflected throughout the hotel, and each building has its own unique theme. We stayed in building three, on the sixth floor, in room 4. I'm specifically mentioning this because this is THE room overlooking the shell-shaped pool. A magical view, and I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the "big next pool" that will be all over Instagram. Want to learn more about this beautiful resort?
