A cookbook from Grandma. Three Michelin stars. And a beautiful 70s villa in a quiet neighborhood in Bangkok, where you are welcomed as if you were at the chefs' home.
The Sühring brothers do not cook based on trends; they cook from memories. Of their grandmother's farm, of the flavors of their youth in Germany, and of techniques passed down through generations.
@relaischateaux invited me to experience Sühring during a solo lunch, and this is truly my ultimate definition of culinary self-care.
This was a surprising afternoon in Bangkok, where I ate the best German food I have ever tasted. And that in a city where I normally avoid European restaurants. Well, for @restaurant_suhring, you really want to make that exception.
Signature dishes that I still think back to regularly?

This is one of the nicest free outings in the spring! Did you know that you can gather (or pick, for the connoisseurs 😉) oysters yourself in various places in the Netherlands? I’m in Zeeland for a bit this weekend, and if we can, we’ll go again.

And of course: also bring an oyster knife, lemon and champagne 🍋🥂Because you want to taste something right away!
The oyster season runs from September to about April / early May, so now that the water isn't so cold, this is the perfect outing.

Do you prefer to book a separate flight and hotel, or perhaps a package holiday? I've already compiled all the tips for you to compare prices for a holiday to Bonaire.
SENSES Boutique Hotel & Apartments
Less than 1 km from Chachacha beach is the beautiful SENSESWhether you choose the luxurious penthouse, a private apartment, or a room in the hotel, you're sure to have a great time. The rooms are stylish, spacious, and feature a balcony with a view. I stayed here for the first few days of my trip and enjoyed the space, the lovely pool, and the restaurant. Everything is brand new, as this hotel only opened in 2022! Located on the boulevard in the center of Kralendijk, you can enjoy a spectacular sunset while dining at It Rains Fishes (the hotel's restaurant). SENSES Boutique Hotel) or at one of the cozy bars nearby. With the Nautico Marina right on your doorstep, there are several water activities to enjoy. You can also use the free water taxi for a relaxing day on the beach of Klein Bonaire. In my opinion, this is the best hotel on Bonaire located in the center of Kralendijk.

Delfins Beach is a relatively new 4-star beach hotel on Bonaire, and it bears its name for a reason: dolphins regularly swim very close to the coast. The resort boasts Bonaire's largest swimming pool, spacious studios, luxury apartments, direct access to the sandy beach, and its own beach bar. In short, the resort has everything you need for a fully catered vacation where you'll want for nothing. You can book the hotel separately, but it's also often available as a competitively priced package deal through, among others: Tui of The Holiday Discounter (so compare prices immediately). Also be sure to rent a during your stay at Delfins BeachThis way, you can explore the rest of this beautiful island at your leisure. Do you, like me, love good food? Then you'll be in your element here. The restaurants at Delfins Beach are run by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer. You know, from the Michelin-starred restaurant De Librije in Zwolle! The breakfast is divine and one of the few hotel breakfasts I've actually found worthwhile. You should make reservations for these restaurants well in advance (right after booking your trip!), as they're always full. If I were to return to the island, I would definitely stay at this luxury hotel on Bonaire again.

Vronie and Geert claim to have fallen in love with this location in 2009 and call it "Diver's Paradise." Geert is an experienced diver and host, and he can tell you all about Bonaire's beautiful nature. You can walk straight from the garden onto the beach. Even if you're not a seasoned diver, this is a wonderful place to feel at home and enjoy everything Bonaire has to offer. If you can secure a spot here, you can expect stunning scenery, top-notch service, and an unforgettable vacation. And if you, like me, love good food, book a table at CHEFS, which is not far from here. One Ocean Boutique Apartments is!

Lazily relax in the sun with your face and enjoy doing absolutely nothing? That's possible at Salt Apartments BonaireThis lovely spot, listed in the Michelin Guide as one of Bonaire's best hotels, offers two apartments for two people. Adults only, so nice and quiet, perfect for a vacation without the kids. The apartments feature a large kitchen and brand-new, modern furnishings. You also have a private pool, which you share only with the guests of the other apartment. It's close to the Donkey Sanctuary, which is fun to visit, and also near Bachelor's Beach. For delicious food, go to The Beach! If you're staying here, it's handy to have a car rental on Bonaire.
