HOME ALONE 4 INCOMING 😅 My trip to NYC ends in a bad (Christmas) movie when the hotel gives my carry-on with my passport to an old lady who doesn't realize it and checks it in for a flight to the UK! Now I'm stuck here in NY without my passport, and I've missed my flight. I've experienced a lot in all the years I've been traveling for Your Little Black Book, but this is a first 😅. This chat video is purely therapeutic in nature 🤣🤣🤣. Because really: HOW?! 🫢 Note to self: better to take my passport with me all day, instead of leaving it 'safely' in the hotel apparently... and from now on, suitcases should be tied together with a cable in the storage room. Even if you're in a luxurious and expensive hotel, everything is still human work. Now I'm stuck in one of the nicest cities in the world, but of course I just want to be home with Manuel as planned. 😔 To be continued 🧳✈️ And thanks for all the sweet DMs ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ✖️✖️✖️ Anne
And do you also have a nice garden? I want to thank you for your patience and help. 𝟳-𝗷𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲! This time we went to @williams.farmhouse one of my favorites for lunch in Amsterdam Oud-Zuid. But is this also fun during the day with kids? We ordered a 'plain' version of the Farmhouse burger 🍔: yes, really just meat + cheese 🤣… and together with the fries it was a mega success. Child happy, us happy… and it was such a cozy, rainy afternoon. I mean this interior, I immediately dream away to the Cotswolds again! Best time to travel in April: Africa

Namibia

April is one of the most beautiful months to explore Namibia. Nature is verdant after the rainy season, and wildlife gathers around the waterholes in Etosha National Park, perfect for a safari. Rise early and climb the red dunes of Sossusvlei for stunning sunrise views. End your day with a traditional barbecue and a glass of South African wine, under one of the clearest starry skies in the world.

Namibia

Zambia

Victoria Falls are at their most powerful in April, thanks to the end of the rainy season. The rushing water is an impressive sight, and you can even take a helicopter flight. Combine this natural wonder with a safari in South Luangwa National Park, where elephants, lions, and giraffes gather by the river.

Zambia

Red Sea, Egypt

April is perfect for a sunny holiday on the Red Sea, with temperatures around 25°C. This is one of the best times to snorkel or dive at the colorful coral reefs of Hurghada or Marsa Alam. Don't feel like spending the whole day in the water? Go on a jeep safari through the desert.

Red Sea, Egypt

Best time to travel in April: America

Hawaii

April is Hawaii's most beautiful month. This is the last month to spot humpback whales, as the islands are in bloom. Take a road trip along Maui's coast, hike through the jungle to hidden waterfalls on Kauai, or relax on Oahu's expansive beaches. And did you know that the poke bowl originated here? Be sure to try one from a local food truck.

Hawaii

San Diego

With sunny days and temperatures around 20°C, April is perfect for a trip to San Diego. Start your day with a walk on the beach in La Jolla, where you'll see sea lions sunbathing on the rocks. Then head into town: the Gaslamp Quarter is packed with great restaurants and bars. As a bonus, April is the month of the San Diego EarthFair, one of the largest environmental festivals in the world.

San Diego

Florida St

April is a great month to visit Florida. Temperatures hover around 77°F (25°C) and there's little rain, perfect for a beach day in Miami or Key West. Visit the Everglades for an airboat tour among alligators, or search for the best key lime pie in the Florida Keys. For theme park enthusiasts, this is also a quiet time to visit Walt Disney World.

Florida St

Texas

In April, Texas is in bloom, literally. This is the month when the famous bluebonnets color the hills of the Hill Country. Visit Guadalupe Mountains National Park, discover cowboy culture in Fort Worth, and end your day with live music and a plate of authentic Texas barbecue in Austin.

Texas

Costa Rica

April marks the start of the rainy season in Costa Rica, but the showers are usually short, and the scenery is lush and green. Spot sloths and toucans in Monteverde or visit the beach in Manuel Antonio. And if you truly want to eat like a local? Start your day with a plate of gallo pinto, Costa Rica's favorite breakfast.

Costa Rica

Cuba

Cuba in April means sunny days, music on every corner, and a relaxed vibe. Hop in a classic Cadillac and cruise through the streets of Havana, dance salsa in Trinidad, and visit the tobacco plantations in Viñales. End your day with a fresh mojito and a plate of ropa vieja, the famous Cuban stew.

Cuba

Best time to travel in April: Europe

Porto

Porto blossoms in April, with temperatures around 18°C and fewer tourists. Stroll through the streets of Ribeira, sample port wine in one of Vila Nova de Gaia's historic wine cellars, and take a boat trip on the Douro River. Looking for a typically Portuguese meal? Try bacalhau à Brás, a classic salted cod dish.

End your day with a glass of local Madeira wine and savor fresh seafood at one of Funchal's restaurants.

Madeira

Seville

April is one of the best months to visit Seville, as it hosts the famous Feria de Abril (April Fair). The city is buzzing with fiestas, flamenco, and tapas. With temperatures around 22°C (72°F), it's wonderful to stroll the whitewashed streets of Santa Cruz or visit the Real Alcázar. Be sure to try salmorejo, a cold tomato soup found in almost every restaurant.

Seville

Best time to travel in April: Asia

Japan

April is cherry blossom month in Japan. While we in the Netherlands head to the Bloesempark (Cherry Blossom Park) in the Amsterdamse Bos (Amsterdam Forest), Japan is the ultimate bucket list destination for this season. Stroll along Kyoto's Philosopher's Path, picnic under the blossoms in Tokyo, and sample fresh sushi at the fish markets.

Japan

Thailand

In April, Thailand celebrates Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year. The streets transform into one giant water fight, and music fills the air. Want to combine this with a beach holiday? Then the islands of Koh Samui or Phuket are ideal. End your day with a plate of pad Thai or mango sticky rice on the beach.

Thailand

Singapore

April is a feast for foodies in Singapore, as this month revolves around the Singapore Food Festival. Stroll through hawker centers and sample local favorites like chili crab and nasi lemak. Visit Marina Bay at sunset and then embark on a food tour of the famous Michelin-starred street food stalls.

Singapore

Bali

April is a quiet month in Bali, just after the rainy season. Nature is in full bloom and the beaches are less crowded. From surfing in Uluwatu to a yoga session in Ubud, Bali offers something for everyone. Enjoy a plate of nasi campur at a local warung and enjoy the island, the weather, and the friendly people.

Borneo is at its best in April, with dry weather and temperatures around 28°C.
