7 x the best terraces in Maastricht for drinks and dinner

Wycker Cabinet

This bistro bar never disappoints, even if you’ve got fussy eaters in your group. And the best part is that it’s open all day – from early morning until late at night, so it’s ideal for every meal. Our tip: try one of the classic French bistro dishes and you’ll feel like you’re in Paris for a moment.

De Brandweerkantine

De Brandweerkantine is another lovely spot where you can stop by any time of day, so it’s also great for drinks and dinner. And even though it’s within walking distance of the Vrijthof, it feels like a peaceful oasis. The menu mixes Italian and Mediterranean flavours with a Dutch twist.

Noon

Noon is right by the river Meuse and boasts one of the most stunning terrace views in the city. Taste is debatable, but sunshine hours are not, and Noon gets the most of them. So at noon sharp, you’ll want to be there for lunch; on sunny days, you’ll likely want to stay until long after dinner. A few favourites from the menu? The chef’s sea bass ceviche, a ‘drunken salmon’ and pulled chicken

Bold Rooftopbar

Bold Rooftopbar is undoubtedly one of the hippest spots in Maastricht for drinks and dinner. You’d almost think you were on the rooftop of a trendy venue in New York, but you’re still firmly in Limburg. Perhaps you know the hotel The Social Hub from other cities – that’s where this gorgeous bar is located—a great place to stay while you’re at it.

Café Zuid

Fancy a deckchair by the water? We won’t say no to that! At Café Zuid, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for. In addition to a spacious terrace with tables for lunch, drinks and dinner, you’ll also spot a few deck and swing chairs along the riverside. With a drink in hand, you can enjoy the soft buzz in the background, gazing at the fountain. Now that’s what we call proper daydreaming

In den Ouden Vogelstruys

Fancy a drink or dinner at an iconic and historic locationThen, in Den Ouden Vogelstruys, is where you need to be. This spot sits right on the Vrijthof square, and while it’s far from quiet, that’s precisely what makes it so enjoyable. Deciphering the menu might take a moment – it’s written in the local Maastricht dialect. Luckily, the staff are happy to help ;-)
