these rooftop bars in Hong Kong are perfect for cocktails
I’ve discussed it several times in my book Wanderlust. One of the best things to do in a large city is, in my personal opinion, having some food and drinking cocktails at the most beautiful rooftop bars in the city. Hong Kong is perfect for this! There are so many great rooftop bars in Hong Kong that you could almost spend a week there visiting them all. A couple of the rooftop and skybars are so well known that they’ve become a little commercial. But… to be fair… it doesn’t make the view any less pretty! Providing that it’s not clouded and you’re not there during the rain season. I’ve been to Hong Kong quite some times now and it was rarely the case that the view was entirely clear. So if you want to go to the best rooftop bars in Hong Kong and it’s a clear day… take your chance!
7 x the best rooftop bars in hong kong to have a drink
Cé La Vi (Lan Kwai Fong): One of the more trendy rooftop bars in Hong Kong is Cé La Vi in the clubbing area Lan Kwai Fong. Are you the type of person to go to a bar and do you like to go out till late you’ll definitely want to pay this neighbourhood in Hong Kong a visit after 10PM. In order to get the best seats it’s best to make a reservation beforehand!

Wooloomooloo (Wan Chai): The famous steakhouse Wooloo Mooloo that also has a location in Singapore, has a rooftop bar in Hong Kong where you’re litterally amongst the building. For me that’s always kind of imposing, when you’re on a roof terrace surrounded by skyscrapers that are even higher! It’s recommended to go here before the sun sets to watch a very special sunset if the weather’s good.

Ozone (Hong Kong Island): Okay, to be completely fair Ozone is actually a sky bar, because the outside area is pretty small compared to the bar inside. It’s that kind of bar where you just have to have been at least once when you’re in Hong Kong. I do have to add that it’s very touristic there ;-). When it’s a clear day you honestly have an amazing view of Hong Kong Island here. And if you’re not really a nighttime-person, but you do love high tea, make sure to check the website of the Ritz Carlton hotel because a couple of floors down you can book a delicious high tea here in Hong Kong.

Sevva (Central): When the weather is clear Sevva remains one of the best rooftop bars in Hong Kong for me. The location is really central and the lighted stools give this rooftop bar a magical touch. You also have a very good view of the ‘Symphony of Lights’ lasershow here, that’s on the other side of the harbour. You can also have something to eat in the restaurant, but if you’re looking for good restaurants in Hong Kong it’s better to check our extensive guide for YourLBB approved tips!

Skye (Causeway Bay): Last year I stayed at the Park Lane hotel in Hong Kong and the rooftop bar there is definitely worth a visit if you’re not staying in the hotel. This rooftop bar in Hong Kong is situated in the Causeway Bay area and this rooftop bar gives you an amazing view of the harbour. Fun fact: this bar is designed by the same designer as the famous Sky Bar in the Lebua State Tower.

Honi Honi Tiki Lounge (Wan Chai): For the best tiki cocktails in Hong Kong you’d have to go to Honi Honi. If the weather allows it’s best to have a seat on their tropical terrace! Keep an eye on the Facebook page of Honi Honi, because they regularly host events or invite the best bartenders from other Asian cities!

Duddell’s (Central): We’ve written about Duddell’s before and about how you can have a great lunch there in this extensive blog post. Are you in Hong Kong and it’s sunny the rooftop bar of Duddell’s is a recommendation. You’re not very high up here, but that does give you the feeling – amongst all the other buildings – that you’re in a metropole. The rooftop bar is like a green oasis and we would love the bamboo furniture to put in our own backyard back home!
