2017 is almost done, and how this year has flown by! It’s almost 2018 and that means that we can look back on the past year. So many new hotspots in Amsterdam have opened this year. So many fun and new concepts. Every now and then it was even hard for us to keep track of everything ;-).
The list of new restaurants and dining cafés in Amsterdam is so incredibly long, and that’s why we’ve lined up our 32 favourite new restaurants in Amsterdam for you. We’ve divided them in restaurants where you go to for an extensive dinner and cafés perfect for a weekday if you know what we mean. But to not leave out the old time favourites I’ve added the spots that have been open for longer and still are a favourite of mine below in this blog. Enjoy these tips and have a happy new year!

17 X FINE(R) DINING IN AMSTERDAM
Escobar: For Spanish dishes and drinks you’d have to go to Escobar. At this hotspot in the Pijp you’re welcome till the very late hours, during the weekends even till 3AM.

MaMa Kelly: A restaurant that’s completely pink and where you can have a great dinner! Everything here evolves around chicken and lobster..

Wijmpje Beukers: This restaurant in the Pijp is so welcoming. Always delicious food for a fair price with an alternating menu. During the summer you can have a seat on the terrace, but nevertheless it’s always cozy here! One of the favourites that we keep on coming back to.

Hennequin & To: Here it’s all about the best champagnes and wines from France and a menu with a French twist. You can start with an aperitif at the bar and then go for an extensive dinner in this cozy restaurant in the Pijp.

Hoed & Krelis: Also on the Ferdinand Bolstraat and just as nice is Goed & Krelis. A beautiful sighting just because of the interior alone, but definitely a nice spot to have drinks with friends or go for dinner and catch up in the new year.

Partisan: Where there was Fa. Speijkervet, there’s now Partisan. A wine café and restaurant in one, we like!

Nacarat
Nacarat: Nacarat is the newest restaurant by Chef Ron Blaauw on the 5th floor of the warehouse Hudson’s Bay at the Rokin. The menu has a Middle Eastern touch.

Ferilli’s: A hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam. You can find this high-end restaurant with classic Italian dishes in The College Hotel in the Old South.

Bar Fisk: To experience the Tel Aviv vibe you’ll go to the Fiskbar in the Pijp. Delicious Mediterreanan dishes with an Eastern touch. During the summer they have a nice terrace on the corner of the Albert Cuypstraat!

Sushisamba: Sushisamba is a restaurant with a unique mix of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian culture and food. The restaurant chain is known for its theatre-like appearance, with a large open space, huge windows and an open kitchen with a large grill.

Libertine Café: Craving Italian food? Then go to the Libertine Café in the Nine Streets. Besides the beetroot risotto the pizettes from the oven and sardines are a definitive recommendation.

Xampanyeria Centra: Spanish dishes prepared with love. At Xampanyeria Centra it’s all about shared dining, small dishes that you can share with the entire table.

Park Café Restaurant: After the rebuilding of Hotel Arena the restaurant has also gotten a new concept. The team of Chefs cook a plant-based menu with local ingredients and better believe us, it’s really good!

Café Dinard: A seafood bar in Old South with an international feeling to it. Classical and timeless, but with nice details.

Mississippi: Here you can get your Southern comfort food. From quesedilla’s with sweet potato and feta cheese or pulled beef with quacamole, daily alternating sliders to on chaircoal grilled salmon with pumpkin puree, or even a crocodile burger.

The Dutch Weed Burger Joint: The green burgers by The Dutch Weed Burger are ones that you’ve probably seen or tasted at one of the (food) festivals in Amsterdam and after being on the road with their food truck for five years, they’ve opened their own spot in the West of Amsterdam. De Tulp: De Tulp is a spot where you can sit on a swing on the porch and drink a coffee, take a seat on the colourful terrace for a tropical lunch, have dinner in the evening and can close off the night with a good cocktail – or should I say cocktails?

De Biertuin Prinsengracht: We don’t have to travel all the way to the East of the city for Friday afternoon drinks anymore. Expect many beers on draught and on bottle and the tasty bar bites like roasted chicken, burgers and bratwurst.

Sushito
Sushito: At Sushito they combine the flavours of Mexico, Japan and Hawaï for lunch or dinner. Pick a poké bowl or choose a sushi burrito.

Mastino V: Mastino V on the Bilderdijkstraat is a little different than the Mastino you know in the Pijp. Because here they only have vegetarian and vegan pizzas. They do not only taste good, but are also healthy and gluten free.

Proefwerk: A bar + restaurant + the perfect spot for dancing. Proefwerk is the spot when it comes to shared dining, fun for a night catching up with friends.

Bar Evert-Jan: No fancy things here, just tasty and good food and drinks in a relaxing, warm atmosphere. Very nice too: from around 9PM the volume goes up a little and it becomes the perfect place for drinks.

Sir Hummus Kitchen: YES our favourite hummus spot has opened its second establishment. At this location you can mostly get pitas like the traditional falafel pita, but next level with onion, herbs and a nice dressing.
