Heading out of town? 🍂 These are my favorite walking and drinking spots in the Netherlands.
To be honest... I don't see myself living outside the city anytime soon, but on weekends I do enjoy getting out into nature. That's why I've created a YLBB shortlist of the most beautiful hiking areas, complete with a great spot for drinks nearby.
My perfect Sunday? First, a walk, then plopping down somewhere with a treat or a hot chocolate (or, of course, a glass of wine and bitterballen!).
📍From Lage Vuursche to the Waterleidingduinen and the Amsterdamse Bos, in this video I share my favorites.
But... there are, of course, many more great places in the Netherlands where you can enjoy a drink after a walk. Which tip do you think shouldn't be missed? 👇
Save this post to enjoy nature this season, or forward it to your hiking date. 🍁

Forget the classic omakase experience in Amsterdam, this is something else.
Hidden inside burger spot @paindemie_amsterdam and inspired by the Tokyo subway, you'll find @moyo_amsterdam. A new hotspot redefining the omakase concept.
Chef @guillaumedebeer is behind this next-level concept, and it shows in every creative detail. But here O-toro and Wagyu take the stage 🥩.
It's intimate, creative, and seriously one of the most exciting new openings in Amsterdam right now.
Save this for your next special dinner night 🔥

The most beautiful l𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 throughout 𝗡𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 for your 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 this season
The days are getting shorter, the evenings longer…
And honestly? I secretly think that's one of the best things about this season. Because the transition from fall to winter means: light festivals! ✨
All over the Netherlands, cities, parks and castles light up with light art, projections and installations that you'll want to see.
What once started with the Amsterdam Light Festival has grown into one of the most beautiful winter traditions in the country, if you ask me!
At most light festivals they also have nice hot chocolate and food stalls for something tasty to go.
Perfect for a winter evening with your loved one, family or friends.
Can you picture yourself with a hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand, strolling past works of art that transform streets, parks, and canals into a fairytale?
From North Holland to Gelderland, I'm sharing all the tips in a comprehensive article on Your Little Black Book, featuring the best light festivals in almost every province in the Netherlands.
Believe me: this is such a special outing to make the dark days just a little bit brighter.
Ps: I'll also have some exciting news about the @lefoodwalk at the @amsterdamlightfestival on Your Little Black Book soon!

Looking for the hottest new spot for a date night in Amsterdam City Center? Meet @littlebonfire.ams 🔥
With its cozy vibe it's the kind of place that feels like an extension of your living room: but with much better food and wine.
On the ever changing menu you'll find classics to share: from pan con tomate with anchovies, stracciatella with zucchini and peas, to crispy eggplant, vitello and sea bass with clams. Don't skip dessert: the Basque cheesecake is already my favorite.
This spot is perfect for a date night at the bar or dinner with the girls.
I think Little Bonfire Amsterdam is a keeper in the city center!

I used to think Halloween was stupid 🎃.
But since I became a mother, it has become one of our favorite holidays!
There are so many fun things to do together as a family. 🖤
Last year, my son and I celebrated Halloween in New York, and believe me, we still talk about it every week (see slide 9). Since then, the anticipation has been just as much fun as the celebration itself.
In the comprehensive Halloween Guide on Your Little Black Book, I've collected all our favorite tips for you:
– From not-too-scary movies to Halloween classics for the whole family
– Addresses to quickly score pumpkins
– Fun DIYs for home (perfect for rainy autumn days ☔)
And of course: fun Halloween events throughout the Netherlands (not just for kids, but also a fantastic Halloween concert, for example!)
In this post, I'm sharing some inspiration, but comment HALLOWEEN to receive the link to all the YLBB tips directly in your DMs.
What do you think of the Halloween craze in the Netherlands?

My Oxford Year is a romantic comedy about Anna, an ambitious American who goes to Oxford to fulfill her childhood dream. Her plan seems foolproof until she meets Jamie, a smart and irresistible local who changes everything. She has her dream job and everything seems to be going smoothly, until her mother suddenly passes away. In her final wish, she asks her daughter to finish the "life list": a list of childhood dreams they once made together. Hocus Pocus might just be the most cheerful Halloween film ever made. In Hocus Pocus, three witches from the 17th century decide to wreak havoc in the 20th century, but are thwarted by a group of children. A wonderfully festive film with Halloween vibes, perfect for autumn.
| 1993 | IMDb score: 6.9 | Available on Disney+
The classic 1993 Halloween film has been completely remade in 2022. The same funny, thrilling story, but with a fresh cinematic twist. Definitely worth seeing.
| 2022 | IMDb score: 6.2 | Available on Disney+
When Harry Met Sally takes place in New York City in the dead of autumn. Harry and Sally are two friends who, after eleven years, still can't seem to accept that they're perfect for each other. A love story set in Central Park in the dead of autumn—it doesn't get any more perfect than this!
| 1989 | IMDb score: 7.7 | Available on Prime Video
In American Beauty, we follow a frustrated father in the midst of a midlife crisis who falls in love with his daughter's best friend. This autumnal film won no fewer than five Oscars, making it definitely worth watching.

We've all probably read Roald Dahl's stories as children. The Big Friendly Giant is a film adaptation of one of these stories. In our opinion, The Big Friendly Giant is one of the best autumn films: fantasy, humor, and heartwarming—you'll find it all in this film. Also fun to watch with children!
| 2016 | IMDb score: 6.3 | Watch at Netflix
The name might already give it away, but "Autumn in New York" is one of the best fall movies out there. In this film, we see a typical playboy fall in love with a beautiful young woman who turns out to be terminally ill. This romantic fall film is definitely one of our favorites.

We think Far from Heaven might be the most beautiful autumn film of all time, at least in terms of atmosphere and cinematography. Another cozy Tom Hanks film for fall; in "You've Got Mail," Kelly happily works in a flower shop that's about to close due to the arrival of a new florist. Little does Kelly know, however, that the man she's been dating via email for a few months owns this new shop.

Costume dramas are perfect for fall. Little Women is a fantastic costume drama, based on the book of the same name by Louisa May Alcott, which follows sisters Amy, Meg, Jo, and Beth March as they grow up in North America during the aftermath of the Civil War. A fantastic costume drama, perfect for fall.
| 2019 | IMDb score: 7.8 | Available for rent at Pathé Thuis

| 1998 | IMDb rating: 6.8 | Available on Netflix
The name might already give it away: this film takes place in the dead of autumn. In a mining village in the 50s, Homer longs to go to space, just like the Russians. This little-known feel-good film is wonderful to watch under a blanket on the couch in stormy weather.
