I always look at it like some sort of Chinese tapas, very fun to share everything with the whole table. From steamed to deepfried, you can wake me up for it anytime! Haaving dim sum is almost like a routine for the locals in Hong Kong, something that they eat every day of week with family and friends. DimDimSum is very local (really, it’s only locals that come here), but also very tourist-friendly. Perfect spot if you’re not yet very familiar with all the different bties. At DimDimSum you can easily order by crossing of your choices on a paper. On that paper everything is very clearly described in English, so you kind of have an idea of what to expect. Very handy!

Wow! Social Place is such a beautiful place. This restaurant has several private rooms that you can reservate for larger groups, and they’re each beautifully and uniquely decorated. And the dim sum? The bites look just as beautiful. With Michelin-star Chef Fung in the kitchen, you can be certain that the dim sum here not only looks beautiful, but also tastes absolutely delicious.

If you want to try dim sum in a hip place, you’d have to go to Social Place. The interior here has the well-known industrial look that you see everywhere nowadays. And yet it remains so pretty to us! The dim sum here are picture perfect, so this is the right place to make lots of nice Instagram-worthy pictures!

This next restaurant has attained a Michelin-star in several countries and you can definitely taste that. In here the xiao long bao dumplings are a must try! Originally from Taiwan, but as shown by the long waiting lines Din Tai Fung is also very loved among the locals in Hong Kong. As you can see on the photo, the food here is being prepared in a very hygienic way. So that means no emergencies after dinner ;-).

As the most affordable 1 star restaurant, naturally this one had to be named in our list. Tim Ho Wan not only appears to be the utter best dim sum restaurant with 1 Michelin star, but also the most affordable. If you want to be guaranteed of perfect dim sum without paying to much for it? Then this is your place to be.
