𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 👀 This is the coolest new hotel for a night away! Meet @viaantwerp , the newest boutique hotel in Antwerp on the border of Zurenborg and Borgerhout (yep, voted 2nd coolest neighborhood in the world by Time Out). I recently stayed at this gem and this hotel really has it all: a lively bar with a cozy atmosphere, walls full of creative art, beautiful bright rooms and it's within walking distance of great hotspots. And I haven't even mentioned @mea.antwerp! The delicious restaurant with a chef behind the pans who previously cooked at The Palomar in London. If you know, you know! And now the best news: I can surprise one of you with a dream night away at VIA Antwerp. 💛 𝗪𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗧 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗡 • Overnight stay for 2 people • Breakfast included • Chef's dinner at MEA 𝗭𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗔𝗞 𝗝𝗘 𝗞𝗔𝗡𝗦 • Let us know in the comments which friend you would like to stay here with • Of course, also take a look at @viaantwerp & @mea.antwerp to dream away and follow their updates The winner will be notified personally via DM on December 10th. 19 of the tastiest croissants in Amsterdam to try now

Sebastien's Fournil

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one place to get the absolute best croissants in Amsterdam, and that's at Le Fournil de Sebastien. A French bakery like you'd expect from La Douce France, with shelves overflowing with baguettes, chouquettes, pains au chocolat, and financiers. And of course, croissants: they're stacked row after row, and you can see the Saturday morning line from a distance. Be warned: one bite, and you'll never want anything else.
Olympiaplein 119, Amsterdam – lefournil.nl

Niemeijer brothers

Okay, okay. Of course, there are other places in Amsterdam where you can get a decent croissant. Gebroeders Niemeijer in the city center is one of them and has been a favorite bakery for many Amsterdammers for years. They also have delicious French classics on the counter, like fougasse (those beautiful braided loaves), canelés, tarte au citron, and croissants.
Nieuwendijk 35, Amsterdam – gebroedersniemeijer.nl

Grams

Fluffy and layered, and always oh so beautiful. The croissants at Grammes are delicious for both the eyes and the stomach. The owner has French roots and therefore certainly respects traditions. A "regular" croissant is always enough for us at Grammes, but the Pain au Chocolate is also a real crowd-pleaser.
Maasstraat 16, Amsterdam – grammes.nl

Salvo Bakehouse

At Salvo, they're experts at filling things. It might sound strange, but we're referring to their maritozzi with their delicious fillings. Luckily, the same goes for their croissants. The one filled with pistachio cream is the one everyone queues for. We get it.
Second Hugo de Grootstraat 9, Amsterdam – salvobakehouse.com

Fort Nine

Fort Negen is the talk of the town. It's certainly because of their excellent products, served with a smile. No matter how busy it is. Maarten and his team are constantly experimenting and have new specials every weekend. Something with cheese and kimchi, for example, is always our favorite on a croissant here.

City bakery As

Restaurant As was a favorite of ours for years. We were sad when they closed. Fortunately, they're continuing the magic with Stadsbakkerij As, so we can still enjoy a little of their knowledge and expertise. They're kings of the basics here, so you can't go wrong with their plain croissant.
Conradstraat 471, Amsterdam – broodvanas.nl

The Bakhuys

Around the corner from Weesperplein is Het Bakhuys: a large bakery for sandwiches to go, but also a place to sit and enjoy. The croissants are excellent, as are the currant buns (optionally with cheese!).

Lance Crown

For over 110 (!) years, Lanskroon bakery has been a household name in Amsterdam. It's the place for stroopwafels, granola, and... croissants! It's a great spot for locals, but also perfect for a day trip, as Lanskroon is located in the city center and has a tearoom.
Singel 385, Amsterdam – lanskroon.nl

Saint-Jean

Everything at Saint-Jean is beautiful and stylish. The decor, the staff, the people queuing, and thankfully, the products they make. Fun fact: everything here is vegan-friendly! Of course, you won't taste anything, because oh, how delicious it all is. Better to sit in than take away; you'll find their deli across the street.

Comet Café

Kometen Café owes its name to Kometenstraat, the place where this adventure began. During the pandemic, they baked for the neighborhood, and now they have a brand-new and beautiful spot at NDSM. They bake with passion, and you can definitely taste it in their croissants. Not in the mood for a croissant? Try the pain au chocolate with salted caramel, sesame, and miso.
MS van Riemsdijkweg 2, Amsterdam – cometbread.nl

Pantopia

Beautiful, more beautiful, most beautiful. Everything at Pantopia looks…well, to eat. The pastries are displayed on pedestals, as if you're stepping into a gallery. And importantly: they're delicious! The croissant tarts are an instant hit, so if you're a croissant lover, you're in the right place.
Church Street 163, Amsterdam – pantopia.nl

The Last Crumb

Looking for something tasty after shopping? Then head to De Laatste Kruimel. Coffee, quiches, pastries, and don't forget croissants.
Langebrugsteeg 4, Amsterdam – delaatsteruimel.nl

Ulmus Bakery

Just around the corner from Fort Negen and with slightly shorter lines. Here too, people with a huge passion for their craft (baking) and a strong focus on local products. They can even tell you which miller the grains come from. The almond croissant is our absolute favorite.
Cabralstraat 7, Amsterdam – ulmusbakkerij.nl

Bakers of the East

The taste of Amsterdam, wrapped in bread. At Bakkers van Oost, we always listen to our customers' wishes to bake the best and most delicious bread possible. This bread is worth the detour!

Margos

Once again, completely vegan! Margo's in the Jordaan (and their second location) is tucked away in a lovely corner of Amsterdam. Their ham and cheese croissant is delicious, and we always order it with a matcha. Totally HDP.
First Tuindwarsstraat 2A, Amsterdam – margosamsterdam.com

Bakery Wolf

Imagine yourself in Scandinavia, but right here in the Nine Streets. Stepping into Bakkerij Wolf feels like a warm welcome, and we much prefer ordering "to stay" rather than to go. Especially because they serve the croissants so deliciously with butter and jam. Yum.
Wolvenstraat 22, Amsterdam – bakerywolf.nl

Kessens

Kessens on Rozengracht specializes in breakfast, brunch, and lunch. You can find sandwiches, soups, and salads all day long. Besides their delicious croquettes, they also serve croissants with butter and jam. And for those in a hurry: they also offer convenient takeout!
ROzengracht 24, Amsterdam – kessensamsterdam.nl

Bakery Louf

Louf is located next to Binnenvisser, and that's no coincidence. The owners took over the building next door and turned it into an equally impressive gem. Their head baker learned to bake at Bakkerij Ex, so that's a no-brainer. It's a shame to go for a "regular" croissant at Louf (although they're incredibly delicious), but they make truly excellent toppings here. For example, with omelet and goat cheese.
Bilderdijkstraat 38-40, Amsterdam – bakkerijlouf.nl

Rise Bakery

Last but not least! Rise is located on the Albert Cuyp Market, making it the perfect place to combine a day at the market. Start your day here early, pop in for a good coffee and croissant, and wander around the market and through the Pijp district. We bet your day will be perfect.
