South African cuisine is becoming increasingly popular. The Cape Town Social Club is a major contributor to this. Dishes with South African undertones instantly capture Cape Town's vibrant atmosphere. Their unique flavors are also combined with a welcoming African atmosphere. Kenneh
Kenneh Amsterdam is the very first place in the Netherlands where you can experience West African cuisine in a fine dining setting. And yes, it's even better than you think. The dishes, from Gambia to Sierra Leone, Ghana, and beyond, are an ode to the rich West African history. A wonderful introduction to this cuisine for those unfamiliar with it, but even true connoisseurs will appreciate Kenneh's flavors.

At SAAM (South Africa – Amstel), South African cuisine is served with a touch of Dutch. Fallon Hoog Antink and Bjorn van Aalst are responsible for the wine list, which features many excellent South African wines (as you might expect). The "spy menu" features typical South African dishes from all eleven cultures in the country. Complete your meal with a wine pairing or alcohol-free cocktail pairing.

Here too, you'll find various meat, fish, and vegan stews with a sour pancake. It might sound strange if you've never tried it before. But trust us: you'll want to get your hands on the recipe for that sour pancake afterward. During the day, the menu is fairly simple, but in the evening, poultry takes center stage. Choose your meat and how it's prepared, and Malva will take care of the rest. On Blasiusstraat, you'll find Axum, a great place for takeout. While you'll want to order everything from the menu, the sambussa (fried "shells" of thin dough with vegetables) is a favorite snack. Pro tip: order the Axum Special Menu and be surprised by their bestsellers.

Heading out of town? 🍂 These are my favorite walking and drinking spots in the Netherlands.
To be honest... I don't see myself living outside the city anytime soon, but on weekends I do enjoy getting out into nature. That's why I've created a YLBB shortlist of the most beautiful hiking areas, complete with a great spot for drinks nearby.

I used to think Halloween was stupid 🎃.
