Have great breakfast & brunch food at Bertmans Rotterdam!

Bertmans in Rotterdam is a great restaurant where you can have your breakfast, brunch or lunch. Only a couple of months old, but after a little visit it is clear to me that Bertmans comes forward with a clear message. Expect organic, vegan and/or gluten-free meals, so no definitely sandwiches but quinoa, soups, omelettes and more. Other than that, you can get your cold-pressed juices and creative smoothies at this hotspot in Rotterdam, yum!

Aside from all the delicious and remarkable dishes, Bertmans is also nicely decorated in an industrial and simple style. They for example left a brick wall unpainted that looks surprisingly good with the rest of the interior. I like it!

Menu x Bertmans Rotterdam

The menu is full with surprises because all dishes are inspired by different overseas cuisines. I tried their gluten-free Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savoury pancake that is normally made with regular flour. Bertman’s version is made with buckwheat flour, but the taste and texture get pretty close to the original. By the way, Bertmans Rotterdam changes their menu at least 4 times a year, so go there as soon as possible if you want to try something specific from their current menu!

After traveling a lot, the owners of Bertmans Rotterdam found out that there is a breakfast culture in many other countries that the Dutch should definitely have as well. That’s why at Bertmans they have an elaborate breakfast menu in the morning. One of the many foreign-inspired breakfast dishes, is the chia seeds pudding with cranberry jam and walnuts. This dish was also very yummy, despite the fact that I usually don’t really like eating nuts.

Good to know: Bertmans helps out other local businesses that have a similar vision, including Pinkyrose. Freshly handmade syrup without conservatives, perfect for a fresh drink with your meal!
