Bertmans in Rotterdam is a nice restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast, brunch or Lunch. Only a few months old, but after a visit, it's clear that Bertmans has a clear vision. Think organic, vegan, and/or gluten-free dishes, so don't expect sandwiches, but quinoa, soups, omelets, and more. You can also visit this hotspot in Rotterdam also the place for delicious cold-pressed juices and smoothies, yum!

Besides all the delicious and unique dishes, Bertmans is beautifully decorated with an industrial and simple feel. For example, they left a brick wall unpainted, which surprisingly complements the rest of the interior very well. I love it!
The menu is full of surprises, as all the dishes are inspired by foreign cuisines. For example, I tried their gluten-free Okonomiyaki, a Japanese savory pancake normally made with flour. Bertman's version is made with buckwheat flour, but otherwise, it's very close to the original in terms of taste and texture. Incidentally, Bertman's changes its menu at least four times a year, so go there soon if you're looking for something specific!

Through extensive travel, the owners of Bertmans discovered that other countries have a breakfast culture that really needs to be adopted in the Netherlands. That's why Bertmans offers an extensive morning menu. One of the many foreign-inspired breakfast dishes on the menu is chia seed pudding with cranberry jam and walnuts. This dish was also very tasty, even though I'm not normally a fan of nuts.
