Healthy hotspot: Bergsson Mathús Reykjavik
If you love healthy hotspots, then you have to go to Bergsson Mathús in the city center of Reykjavik. Seeing the logo alone already makes us so happy! A black and white sketch of an Icelandic lamb and turnips. That’s also pretty much what Bergsson Mathús stands for: local and organic food whenever possible. On the menu they have seasonal dishes from salads to lasagna and sandwiches. Looked super delicious!
We stopped by at Bergsson Mathús in Reykjavik for a drink. And the first thing that struck us was how many locals were here! This hotspot is just a few blocks away from the main street and therefore it’s not overcrowded with tourists. Nice! And they say that at Bergsson Mathús you can drink the best hot chocolate of Reykjavik. I definitely wanted to try it out myself! And yes, it’s true: sooo delicious! Made with real chocolate and exactly what you need on a rainy day in Reykjavik.
