One of the restaurants you'll want to remember during your winter sports holiday in Méribel is Beefbar in the beautiful Le Coucou hotel. Come here for excellent food, fine wines, and a leisurely lunch with views of the mountains and slopes. Not a quick stop between skis, but a place where dining is just as important as the view.
Beefbar Méribel is one of those restaurants that makes you happily change your skiing schedule. High in the French Alps, in hotel Le CoucouThis restaurant brings a generous dose of urban gastronomy to Méribel. Think: Riccardo Giraudi's international Beefbar concept, but with a view of snow-capped mountains.
Anyone familiar with Beefbar from cities like Paris or London knows what to expect: exceptional quality meat, meticulously prepared. At Beefbar Méribel, everything revolves around perfectly selected cuts such as Black Angus from Argentina and the United States, Australian Wagyu, and even Japanese Kobe. Each piece of meat is carefully hung in special climate cabinets and prepared with precision.
What I appreciate is that the menu is upscale, yet doesn't feel inaccessible thanks to the delicious combinations. Besides the impressive prime cuts, there are also street-food-style starters to share, as well as pasta and fish dishes. Perfect if not everyone at the table wants to choose meat.
Good to know: Beefbar in Le Coucou also has a extensive children's menu and is family-friendly.

If you're going for meat, I have one non-negotiable tip: always order the Beefbar signature sauce. This silky butter sauce with black truffle is inspired by the classic Relais de Paris sauce and elevates any dish. Rich, earthy, and dangerously delicious. You'll likely dip your fries in it and order some extra bread to scrape the silver jug clean.

This is not a place for a quick bite between descents during winter sportsWhile you can also just order a good burger here, Beefbar Méribel invites you to dine at length. Take your time and enjoy the service, the food, and the interior; they've clearly been carefully considered.
The style is best described as alpine chic with a playful twist. Every detail is perfect, both inside and on the terrace. From the seventh floor of the hotel, the terrace overlooks the trees and surrounding mountain peaks, making it even more special. You're truly immersed in an oasis of tranquility!

The wine list also deserves a mention. It's extensive and carefully curated, with plenty of excellent choices to give your lunch that little something extra. This is the kind of place where you start with a glass of champagne or crémant and then—okay, after lunch—order another glass. As a result, you'll be slightly reluctant to put on your skis again for that last bit of piste ;-).

Beefbar Méribel is located in hotel Le Coucou and is directly accessible from the Rhodes slopes while skiing. If you're staying at the hotel itself, you're in luck, in my opinion. Straight from your room to one of Méribel's best restaurants: it doesn't get much better than that!

Yes, reservations are highly recommended, especially during ski season. Beefbar Méribel is popular with both hotel guests and visitors. Reservations can be made via the website.
Unlike many other luxury hotspots in the Alps, Beefbar is definitely family-friendly. There's a dedicated children's menu, so even the youngest skiers can have a lunch at their level without it being too complicated. Especially if the weather is nice enough to have lunch outside on the terrace, it's a great place to bring the kids!
Although it's a 5-star venue, your ski suit is the standard for lunch. But the vibe is chic!
For a full lunch including wine, expect to pay around €80-€150 per person, depending on your choice of the exclusive prime cuts. The menu and prices are available on the website, so it's best to check it out yourself to get an idea of what you'd order. Enjoy!
I didn't spot any parasols on the terrace, but I did see people who didn't want to sit in the sun on a sunny day. They were all given racing green Beefbar caps to protect them from the sun. And I'm 99% sure I saw they could keep them when I left! So you understand: I was bummed I had my (fake) fur hat on and will forget my sunglasses next time ;-). Love these kinds of souvenirs!
