The Aambeeldstraat in Amsterdam-Noord is slowly starting to grow at the seams in terms of good catering establishments that you will find there. The list of Benelux Bar, Restaurant Europa, Euro Pizza, Barracuda, Hangar, FC Hyena, and Hotel Goudfazant now also includes the brand new Beanbeard Coffees – the very first specialty coffee shop in this part of Amsterdam North. And even though North is now home to several high-quality catering establishments, a hotspot like Beanbeard Coffees was precisely missing.
WHY YOU WANT TO VISIT BEANBEARD COFFEES IN NOORD
Admittedly, Beanbeard Coffees is not entirely new: before the move, they were already located on Meeuwenlaan, not far from the new location. The name Beanbeard refers to owner Michael Amanda, who has a large beard. He previously founded De Zithoek in Amsterdam-Noord, and thanks to his connections with the men behind Barracuda, he was now able to acquire a building in this popular part of Amsterdam-Noord.
That’s nice because Aambeeldstraat is increasingly becoming a place you can go from early morning to late at night. In the summer, you can sit on the water at the various catering establishments; in winter, there is little cozier than this place with a view of the IJ. In addition, there is ample parking for both cars and bicycles, which is scarce these days.
Menu Beanbeard Coffees Amsterdam
At Beanbeard Coffees, you immediately feel at home: Michael or one of his staff members welcomes you enthusiastically and is ready to share his passion for coffee with you. Don’t be surprised by extensive advice, but there is also plenty of room for a quick takeaway. The Beanbeard Coffees menu has now also been expanded with farm-fresh cinnamon buns, making it (perhaps together with a babyccino) also a fun destination for kids. The casual atmosphere contributes to this.
Beanbeard Coffees serves an extensive menu of coffees, as befits a real specialty coffee bar. Michael’s community blend is made from a blend of 90% Brazil and 10% Ethiopia beans, providing fresh, smooth espresso. But you have also come to the right place for flat whites, V60 filters, and other coffee creations.
