In the heart of Lille, on a busy shopping street, you will find Basilic Cafe. For me, it's a typical restaurant you have to know about; otherwise, you'd never go in. But once you walk through the hallway and into the restaurant, you're in for a pleasant surprise! A modern restaurant with an urban art gallery. Pretty cool!
When the weather is nice, you can sit outside on the courtyard terrace at Basilic Cafe in Lille. The walls are covered in street art and graffiti, giving it an almost NYC-esque feel.
The menu at Basilic Cafe offers a mix of French and international dishes. I tried the Basilic steak tartare, which was delicious. It was a bit different, with a touch of cocktail sauce and tomato! If raw meat isn't your thing, I also saw some lovely salads ;-). Tip: the strawberry soup for dessert is highly recommended!
