Bar Sue Amsterdam: bowls, bao buns and more in the East of Amsterdam

29 January 2017

new all day hotspot in the east of amsterdam with delicious asian food

What started with the moving of Korean BBQ restaurant Yokiyo has now turned into Bar Sue Amsterdam. A completely different concept, but luckily still the same Korean Kimchi on the menu. And lots of more deliciousness. Bar Sue Amsterdam is a place where everyone has to feel welcome. Doesn’t matter if you come in for just a cup of coffee or if you visit in the evening to taste all the bao buns of the menu… Bar Sue is for everyone. An all day café that opens as early as 9AM during weekdays, and at 11AM in the weekend. The café is actually divided in two parts, and the left part next to the kitchen will be used as an exhibition space for young artistic talent later.

Menu x Bar Sue Amsterdam

Recently I went to Bar Sue in the East of Amsterdam for an extensive tasting. You have to understand: once I saw the bao buns and the bowls on the menu I had a gut feeling that nothing could go wrong with this concept. And my oh my, these bao buns at Bar Sue are delicious! I think we probably tasted them all, but the pork, chicken and beef have to be my favourite. The fun thing about the menu for me is that you can order lots of tasty dishes and share that with your friends, but you can also walk in by yourself and order a generously filled bowl. The bowl come in several styles. One with salmon which passes as a poké bowl, but also other styles with sweet potato and chicken, and pork with kimchi. The bowls are not just Asian anymore, but more like fusion with worldly tastes. We had a kale salad with it which was very good as well! We haven’t tried the noodle dishes this time, but we’ll make sure to order those another time.
