14 October 2014

Welcome to shopping paradise aka Bangkok!

If you have money to spend… book a ticket to Bangkok in Thailand asap. Find a cheap deal with China Airlines and you have even more shopping money to discover the best of the best in one of Bangkok’s huge malls. From high fashion, like Chanel and Hermes, to high street favourites Zara and Uniqlo. Bangkok has it all! And don’t forget to check out one of the local (night) markets too for the best (super cheap) treasures. We stayed the night at the Amari Watergate hotel which is perfectly located in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping heaven!

Here’s a list with the best s shopping-malls and markets in Bangkok:

Shopping malls in Bangkok

Make sure to bring some plastic money to Bangkok. WOW! This city has so many malls… fashionista and shopaholic that I am… it made me dazzle ;-).

Siam Paragon Mall
It does’t get more luxurious than at the Siam Paragon mall in Bangkok. This malls is so large and is home to all the luxury brands. I felt a bit misplaced walking into the Chanel Boutique wearing my shorts and tank-top and shiny sweaty face. LOL. Located next to the Siam Sky-train Station.

MBK mall
I lost count of the floors when I was at the MBK mall. This place is popular with backpackers and everyone looking for knock-off fashion, cheap suitcases and outlets. There’s also a food court and cinema. Located close to National Stadium Sky-train Station.

Bangkok Shopping Mall
Central World
At Central World you find all the high street fashion brands, like Mango, ZARA, H&M, Uniqlo and everything else. This mall is huge… I almost got lost! Central World is located between Siam and Chit Lom Sky-train stations (5 minute walk).

Terminal 21
This is one of my favourite malls in Bangkok. At the upper floors you find small boutiques of local designers. Brands you don’t find in Amsterdam. Now I have your attention, right? If you take the time to browse though all the small shops you might find yourself some true fashion gems! Beside the small boutiques this mall also has all the high street brands. Located close to Asoke Sky-train Station.

Night Markets in Bangkok

There are many night markets in Bangkok. I remember being in Thailand for the firs time. The industry of fake brand products seemed to be at the top. The LV logo’s were everywhere! You can still get those fake items at most night markets in Bangkok. The markets sell many other things too though!

Bangkok Shopping Mall
Chatuchak Weekend Market
At the Chatuchak Weekend Market you can shop till you drop. It’s unbelievable what they have for sale here. You named it… they sell it! This market is also great to taste authentic Thai food.

Patpong
If it’s your first time in Bangkok a visit to a traditional night market should be on your list. The Patpong market is the best if you ask me. Yes, this market is crazy busy! Located in the Silom district you find knock-offs and go-go bars there. Everything looks real there, from the ladies to the bags ;-). If you want to buy something bargain hard!
