From temples and culture to street food and fine dining at the most trendy restaurants and bars. Asia has so much to offer! Last year I was in Bangkok again after 12 years and it was so great to be back. I love the busy city life. Chilling at a rooftop pool in the morning, going for pad Thai in the afternoon. It’s just so nice to combine the city life with relax time at the pool.
January is the month to make plans for the new year. It’s also the month of the World Deal Weeks at KLM and many tickets are super cheap. I always create my new shortlists with cities I want to go. This is our bucket-list with 5 cool city trips in Asia to do this year (use the city your hub to discover the country!):
Seoul City Trip >> South Korea
South Korea will be the next IT-city in Asia. Seoul is becoming more and more hip! I sooo want to go there for the food. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favourite Korean dishes. For our Seoul City Guide we would check out the hipster neighbourhoods Hapjeong and Hongdae. There are so many cool cafes, restaurants and stores with upcoming designers. Tips from our Seoul Little Black Book to check out on your next city trip: Fell + Cole, Anthracite Coffee, Bali Superstore, Little Papa Pho & Spacca Napoli.
Amsterdam – Seoul from € 802,- to € 697,-. Click here for cheap tickets to Seoul with KLM >>
Hong Kong City Guide >> close to China ;-)
I don’t think I ever met someone who hated Hong Kong. It’s such a vibrant city! Fantastic restaurants, street food and the most trendy bars. When I think of Hong Kong I think of gigantic steamed oysters with black bean sauce and oyster omelette. The neighbourhood Sheung Wan is in our Little Black Book to visit and check out the hotspots for a while already. We’ll first go to Fatty Crab, Sal Curioso & Yardbird!
Amsterdam – Hong Kong from € 852,- to € 698,-. Click here for cheap tickets to Hong Kong >>
Tokyo City Guide >> Japan
One day I will go to Japan to create a city guide for Your Little Black Book about Tokyo. The blossom trees in the parks and sushi from breakfast to dinner. Sounds great, right? A visit to the fish market and a stroll around the hipster neighbourhood Shimokitazawa are on our to do list. Drinking cocktails at the highest rooftop bars and of course sing some karaoke!
Amsterdam – Hong Kong from € 846,- to € 697,-. Click here for cheap tickets to Tokyo >>
BangkokCity Guide >> Thailand
Did you see the Bangkok city guide on Your Little Black Book? Full of cool hotspots to discover! On our next trip to Asia we love to make another stop-over in Bangkok. The hipster neighbourhoods Ekkamai and the busy Sukhomvit are full of cool coffee bars, restaurants and stores. YES, we LOVE Bangkok and the friendly Thai people. And then we didn’t even talk about the food yet ;-).
Amsterdam – Bangkok from € 719,- to € 549,-

Chengdu City Guide >> China
Every since I’m a little kid I’m dreaming of going to the Panda bears in Chengdu. Don’t you think that those black and white cuties are just adorable? In Chengdu there’s a center where they protect them and have a breeding programme. Of course when I’m in Chengdu I will make a selfie at this Panda statue ;-). Can’t wait to explore all the dim sum restaurants in Chengdu!
Amsterdam – Chengdu from € 800,- to € 548,-
