On a corner of Nassaukade in Amsterdam West, you'll find a creative hotspot. Anyone looking for an accessible way to get hands-on should visit Artsy Avenue Amsterdam. You can easily spend an hour there, enjoying a cup of coffee, painting your own ceramics.

Besides fine specialty coffee and ceramics, you've also come to the right place for excellent matcha and, of course, delicious pastries. They don't make their own, but source them from local bakeries and suppliers. So, for a strawberry shortcake, slice of banana bread, or brownie while painting, this is the place to be.

How does Artsy Avenue Amsterdam work?

The concept is simple yet effective. You walk in and choose a piece of ceramic you'd like to paint—from a mug to a pitcher to a plate (or a complete set of dishes, if you're a regular). Then you select your materials and paint colors, order a drink, and get started.

The total cost is €12,50 (excluding drinks), and that includes the materials, the ceramic piece, and the accompanying instructions. Once you've finished your creation, it will be glazed and fired for you. Two to four weeks later, your own creation will be waiting for you. How exciting is that?!
