Weekend tips for January 22, 23 & 24

Brrr, it’s cold isn’t it? And this weekend it doesn’t really get any warmer. Perfect to drink coffee or hot chocolate in town if you ask me, to visit a museum (must visit: the collection of photo’s of Marilyn Monroe at the Eduard Planting Gallery), to ice skate, to shop or to catch a movie. – On Friday and Saturday we can go to Novanta pop-up restaurant in Amsterdam! With a 4-course Tuscan dinner and Fabrizio behind the grill.

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE MUSEUM– From this week until March 5 the Eduard Planting Gallery presents a unique collection of photographs of Marilyn Monroe. Taken by the famous photographers Milton Greene and Douglas Kirkland.

– A must visit expo at Tassenmuseum Hendrikje: Street CoutureAt this exhibition it’s all about mix and match: high end fashion is combined with street fashion, sports and pop culture.

– At Foam you can see We May Have Met BeforeSeven Chinese artists give insight in China with focus on the cultural climate, artistic developments and photography.

– The Amsterdam Museum also has a cool exhibition: Graffiti: New York Meets the Dam. The exhibition shows graffiti from New York and Amsterdam from the 70 & 80’s. And: this is the last weekend it’s open!

– Let’s go back to the 60s! At the Tropenmuseum with the The Sixties expo! Fashion, design, music, architecture and photographs from the 60’s are exposed.
