Amsterdam Weekend Guide for February 15, 16 & 17

13 February 2019

Are you secretly feeling those Spring vibes with all this sunny weather we’ve been having this week? Me too! That’s why I’m planning on spending a lot of time outdoors this weekend! Maybe on the beach for a long walk and a drink at one of these great beach restaurants. Next to that, I am also definitely testing out the very first Asian High Tea in Amsterdam. There are loads of fun food events this weekend in the city, like the Ramen Festival and Cheesy Sunday. So better start planning!

In this brand new Amsterdam Weekend Guide for February 15, 16 & 17 I listed 10 tips for you guys, full of fun stuff to do in our favourite city! Happy weekend!

❶ Spending an afternoon at Pampus is always a good idea. Especially when the weather is super nice in Spring and Summer, and we can chill on one of their bean bags in the grass again. Normally we’re not allowed on the island in the evening, but twice a year their special pop up restaurant opens it’s doors and we can enjoy a culinary evening in the fort. Winterlicht is open for business starting this weekend! More info and reservations via the Facebook event >>

❷Are you a high tea lover like me? Then I have some good news for you. Happyhappyjoyjoy starts with their Asian High Tea this weekend. And we’re there to try it out and let you in on all the details. But we kind of already know that this is going to be GOOD! There is not one thing on the menu at Happyhappyjoyjoy that I don’t like, so that’s why I feel pretty confident about this. Want to know more about this Asian High Tea and about how to book it? Click here!

❸ If you love the bohemian lifestyle, then you probably know concept store The Kindreds on the Utrechtsestraat. They are hosting a mega sample sale this Saturday and Sunday, so go here to score those famous Kelim boots, rugs, pillow cases, clothing and jewellery with huge discounts. More info in the Facebook event >>

❹ It’s finally here! Februari 17 marks the day of the VERY first ramen festival in Amsterdam. De Bajes is the place to be this Sunday, for loads of ramen, Japanese snacks, Karaoke and more! Which friend are you taking to enjoy one of the delicious soups? Check out the Facebook event >>

Wine house SOMM is a famous name amongst wine drinkers. And we have some good news if you are one of them! This Sunday they are kicking off their Aperitivo Sunday. Delicious warm and cold bites are served between 4pm and 7pm, of course together with a good glass of wine. The Aperitivo consists of 2 glasses of wine and 3 bites, for € 23,- for 2 people. Read all about it here and make sure to reserve a spot >>

❻ The cheese fondue season is in full effect at my house. Two weeks ago I even brought it back as a souvenir from Switzerland. Are you also in the mood for a cheesy dinner date? Then definitely don’t miss Razmataz this Sunday from 4pm till 8pm. They are hosting their Cheesy Sunday, where you can enjoy a lovely pan full of cheese fondue from Vacherin Mont d’Or for 2 people, served with  crudités and bread for € 35,-. More info and reservations >>

❼ In London I always know exactly where to go for good Indian food. But for some reason I struggle in Amsterdam. Great news, because one of my favourite spots – Tandoor Chop House – from London is doing a pop-up restaurant in The Hoxton. OH YES! Want to know more about this pop-up? Find out more about Spice It Up >>

❽ Do you love pre-loved items? This weekend, the IJ-hallen market returns in Amsterdam Noord. On Saturday and Sunday hundreds of boots will be ready for you to explore and shop. So, grab the ‘pondje’ (the free boat that takes you from Central Station to NDSM), come treasure hunting and go for a cosy drink or lunch at PLLEK. Check  out the Facebook event for the exact times >>

Flely is a new flea market AND clothing swap in Amsterdam! This Sunday, the aula of Lely is being transformed into a flea market. Hoarders, collectors, book worms, geeks, fashionistas, artist and designers are welcome to come shop from 12pm until 17pm. After this, the clothing swap party starts and you can swap all your unsold items! Fun concept! More info about the rules in the Facebook event >> TIP: after the event, go for drinks at the cool Bar Lely!

❿ Without a doubt, this is the coolest party to go to this weekend: the Chin Chin Cruise! Not only are their parties the best, so is the food. It’s one of those great places where you come for a bite and end up staying the whole night to dance and drink. This Saturday 16, the Chin Chin Cruise is sailing on the Amsterdam waters, and believe me when I say that this will be one of their legendary parties again… Check out the Facebook event for more info & ticketswap for tickets >>
