Weekend is here again! And summertime is also coming closer and closer.

Hopefully it will be nice and sunny this weekend, so you can chill on a nice terrace in Amsterdam or one of these summer hotspots. And there’s so much to do and see! It’s also time for the Amsterdam Denim Days : a must go for jeans lovers! My personal tip? Visit the World Press Photo exhibition on Saturday! And the Neighbourfood Market on Sunday is the perfect place to end your weekend! >> Enjoy!

– On Sunday the 19th there will be Neighbourfood Market again at the Westergasterrein.

– Or have some special “bok” beers at the Meibock Festival.

– More in the mood for oysters and champagne? Then visit Zilte Zondag this Sunday at Razmataz! Oysters for 1 euro only! And, till Friday you can enjoy some asparagus at the last day of the Asparagusweek.

– On Saturday there will be another Local Goods Saturday Market in De Hallen! Shop the greatest items designed or produced by young entrepreneurs in Amsterdam!

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE MUSEUM

– It’s National Museumweek (April 18 till 26) this week! This means there will be several special activities in museums all around Amsterdam. For example: free tours in the Tropenmuseum!

– Also nice at the Tropenmuseum: Bodyart! This exhibit is all about Bodyart from all over the world. Warning: you might want a tattoo after visiting ;-). Read all about the expo here. Until August 30.

– Saturday the 18th of April is the start of the World Press Photo  exhibition! Till July 5th and a must see!

– In the city archives of Amsterdam there is a cool exhibition with photos of Cor Jaring! This selfmade photographer is a true “Amsterdammer” and made several photo’s of rebellious activities in Amsterdam. Till July 12th.

– The English design duo Jimmie Martin, famous for their special furniture, will open their first exposition in the Urban Art House Gallery Store in Amsterdam. Famous costumers are Kylie Minogue, Kelly Osbourne, Jamie Oliver and Madonna. Go and have a look! Possible from April 10 till June 30.

– A publication of Terry O’neils new Rock ‘n’ Roll photo book at the Eduard Planting Gallery! Come and see a great selection of the stars of the music industry, like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Presley, Amy Winehouse, Diana Ross and many others (till May 23).

– Visit these nice expositions at the FOAM photo museum: Broomberg & Chanarin (till June 6) + Geert Goiris – Flashbulb Memories, Ash Grey Prophecies (till may 24).

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE SHOPPING

T.I.T.S (This is the Shit) at the De Clerqstraat! Great new concept store for women with clothing and accessories (and a coffee corner with chairs for our boyfriends ;)).

Afriek has a cool new pop-up store in de Pijp! Open until Wednesday, to drop by this weekend!

– But there is more in de Pijp. A Cheap Monday Sample Sale!

– The Local Goods Store in De Hallen will be opened this weekend! After the success of Local Goods Weekend Market. Here you’ll find for example cool items of Neef Louis.

– Or shop some cool Scandinavian outfits at the Pinc Sale!

BUTTON WEEKENDGUIDE clubbing

–  Olivier Weiter plays an all night long set at “het Sieraad!”.

– Normally LIEFHEBBERS takes place at Ruigoord, but this Saturday they will celebrate there 2 year anniversary near the center of Amsterdam:the Westerunie!

– Did you go to these cool clubs in Amsterdam yet?! The Warehouse, Club Closure and Radion. They have great party’s every week!
