Amsterdam Weekend Guide for April 12, 13 & 14

By the time you are reading this, I am in Parijs. I’m here with my lover for HIS job for a change. This weekend we are finally (!) staying at The Hoxton Paris and as you might understand… I can’t wait for it. Of course you can follow everything via my Instagram Stories at @YOURLBB and @TRAVELKIDS.CO! When are you going on your next weekend getaway? For fun stuff, you don’t have to leave the city at all. I really love this time of the year when the sun shows it’s face much more and our activities are moving to the outdoor. ❶ Movie fanatics and cinema lovers can go all out this Sunday, because during the Parool Premièredag you can go to the exclusive pre-premieres of 5 quality movies in Tuschinski. The films have been handpicked by the editors of the Parool newspaper and a ticket for the whole day is € 30,-. Curious to find out what movies they are showing? ❷ Last weekend we were at the Sunday market at Westergas and I hereby officially declare the start of the festival season! this weekend it is time to visit one of my other favourites, because the Pure Markt is back with their amazing outdoor food market. ❸ Great news for lovers of vintage clothing , because this weekend Vintage Per Kilo is back in the Posthoornkerk in Amsterdam. Not just one day, but BOTH days of the weekend you can come here to score some treasures. And yes, you pay per kilo. 18 euros per kilo to be precise! Free entrance! ❹ Noord is still one of my favourite areas of Amsterdam. Have you not traveled with the Noord-Zud line yet? Then this is your reason to do so this weekend! Because on Saturday April 13, there are loads of fun things to do during 24 Hours Noord. A lot of entrepreneurs and restaurants will host a special event at their place. ❺ One of the exhibitions I try to go to every year is World Press Photo. From April 13 – July 7, the new World Press Photo is back in Amsterdam in de Nieuwe Kerk. More info and where to score a ticket? Check it our here  >>

❼ It’s officially asparagus season and that means that you can visit Envy till June 3 for their special asparagus dinner. The kick off will take place this weekend, where you can come and be the first to taste their new dishes. Want to join? Make your reservation via the Facebook event page >> 

❽ Green in your house and garden is good for you! Can’t wait for your garden or balcony to be on fleek?  In this blog I share 9 tips for the perfect Staycation and you can also win my book at Intratuin. For everyone with (wannabe) green fingers: the Klaproos is hosting a cool event this Saturday, from 1 till 6 pm. ❾ The Family Lunch is back at the Lloyd Hotel this Sunday (did you know they redecorated the place btw?) For € 20,- you can enjoy a 3-course lunch and because they have such a relaxed setting, it’s perfect here for kids, grandpa’s and grandma’s or just to come hang out with friends of course.   • The last few months I have been collection art for the house. I spotted a cool exhibition that I want to share with you guys! The Hoxton is hosting the exhibition of Anne Mei Poppe through the middle of May, where you can check out her ‘one line drawings’ plus purchase them from the artist herself.   • Did you already check out Cool Japan in the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam? A recommendation for everyone that has been to Japan (you will see a lot of memories flash by) or that wants to go here soon to scratch this great country of the bucket list. Read all about this exhibition here >>

  • Going outside in cities to spot street art is super cool, but let’s be honest, the weather isn’t always great for that. That’s why you should go to the MOCO museum. With lots of pieces by the famous Banksy, but they are also hosting a new exhibition with work by the New York artist Daniel Arsham.
