Are or aren’t we going to see the summer this weekend? He keeps it exciting, very exciting ;-) But of course that doesn’t takes out the fun. Because weekend means wéékend! Yes! And as we know from Amsterdam, the city offers this weekend again loads of fun. You can rock ‘n roll around at Roest or go strolling at the Pure Market. But also just out of Amsterdam there’s something good: the very first edition of By The Creek festival. And it sounds very promising. – At the office we’re totally ecstatic about Jungle Book in cinemas. But now we’ve acquainted yet another Mowgli! On the corner across from Smokin Barrels in East. A new restaurant where the menu is inspired by the Indian and Asian cuisine. Also perfect for shared dining!
– Each time, we look forward to be offered an extensive lunch on a terrace. Especially if those lunches are tasty and healthy. This is exactly why we made a list with the 26 x best healthy hotspots in Amsterdam.
– Upcoming Friday, you can go straight from the office to the Tolhuistuin to celebrate the weekend. From 17:00 to 01:00, together with your colleagues/friends and hiphop beats, you can make a toast to the weekend! – Fashion can of course not be missed in this week’s Amsterdam Weekend Guide. Fashion Week has started and tickets are still available! Also for several Haute Couture shows. We find this kind of culture very nice!
– In the Tropenmuseum, you can still admire the Rhythm & Roots. Until 30 October, you can see the differences and similarities between music around the world.
– Last call! Until Saturday, you can visit the exhibition of Breaking Stones 1963-1965: A Band on the Brink of Superstardom‘ A must-see if you are a fan of The Rolling Stones.
– It is also worth it to visit an exhibition of another music legend: Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait. Here you get an unique insight into the private life of the singer. This is an intimate, personal exhibition that can be viewed until 4 September.
– Always wanted to travel through time? This is possible using 1000 artworks during Made in Amsterdam. With the help of different schools, artists and movements you will see the Amsterdam art world over the past 100 years. The exhibition runs until 31 July!
– In the Nieuwe Kerk, there is still an exhibition with impressive photos. World Press Photo 2016. During this exhibition, you can see the impressive work of all kinds of (press) photographers who won prizes with their special photos. This exhibition runs until 10 July!
–: Wonen in de Amsterdamse School in the Stedelijk Museum is a must for every citizen of Amsterdam. Until 28 August you can learn more about the expressive movement on the basis of 500 interior designs. After this, you will know the city even better, I promise!
