My trip to Los Angeles next week is coming closer and closer and I’m so excited about that! Just enjoying the sun and the city after these busy weeks. But I can tell you already that the book is ready to be printed, YAY! So, I think it’s time to spoil myself and what way better than with a little shopping trip? About shopping, did you see the beautiful, renewed Gelderlandplein yet? It’s the ideal shopping spot if the weather is bad. In the meantime we can also start organizing one of my favourite days of the year: Kingsday! Still no idea what you’re going to do that day? Than you have to check this list! – Soon, De Pijp will have a brand new hotspot. Chiapas Taco Cartel is opening its doors at the Van Woustraat. As the name suggests, this spot will serve tacos and other Mexican delicacies.
– More taco news: Taqueria Tacobar is going to be the first real taco hotspot of Amsterdam West. We’re already fantasizing about the interior and menu of this new spot! Yay!
– Roots has a brand new establishment in the Nine Streets! And that makes us véry happy. From now on, we can just go behind the corner for our favorite juices and healthy lunch.
– If you’re looking for a nice spot to spend your Friday afternoon, Carels Amsterdam is definitely a great option. In this all-day neighborhood restaurant you can have lunch, dinner and your late evening drink!
– Amsterdam West has a brand new gem! Recently, you can find Gallery 3 at the Bilderdijkstraat. They serve delicious juices, coffees, snacks, lunch, … Enjoying to the fullest!
– Falafel lovers can do a dance of joy because really soon, they can have their favorite snack at Bar Kauffmann. Put together your own falafel and enjoy the sun on the adjacent terrace!
– Looking for an unique dining idea? On Friday night, Oedipus is organizing Noord Beer Dinner. Be prepared for shared dining, because you’ll get six courses and six new, matching beers. The last two events were sold out in no time so be fast and make a reservation through tasting@oedipus.com!
– For the first time this year, you can have your Friday afterwork drinks at DOK! This playground for young and old is totally ready for a fantastic Spring and Summer. Food, drinks, party, … it’s gonna be great! :-)
– Walk from the one stand to the other at Pure Markt on Sunday and taste the delicious creations. Besides, the producers also sell their craft products.

– From April 8 till June 5, you can admire the beautiful art of Roe Ethridge at Foam. In Shelter Island he shows you the end of a nostalgic Summer. Ethridge combines commercial photography with the fine art of photography.
– A brand new museum is opening its doors in Amsterdam. The Moco Museum focuses on Modern Contemporary Art. Andy Warhol and Banksy are the first artists to expose their work in the new museum.
– The hit musical PIPPIN is coming to Carré because of the new ‘Broadway aan de Amstel’ initiative. Every year, Carré is bringing the biggest and most leading Broadway productions to Amsterdam. If you want to see this spectacular show with your own eyes, you have to get a ticket quick! The production runs until April 10.
– This one has to be on your to do list: the Catwalk exhibition in the Philipsvleugel of the Rijksmuseum. Rijks presents fashion of the Netherlands from 1625 to 1960. A must visit for fashion lovers!
– Have you already been to Close-Up – A New Generation of Film and Video Artists in the Netherlands at EYE Film Instituut? An exhibition featuring numerous recent film and video works and spatial installations by a new generation of filmmakers and artists in the Netherlands.
– Stadsarchief Amsterdam pronounced a new expo: Amsterdamse Parken (Amsterdam parks). All these great parks in Amsterdam, but what do people do there? Photographer Jeroen Hofman shows you.
– A must visit expo at Tassenmuseum Hendrikje: Street Couture. At this exhibition it’s all about mix and match: high end fashion is combined with street fashion, sports and pop culture.
