What to do in Amsterdam on February 6, 7 & 8?

When writing this Amsterdam Weekend Guide I’m at beach bed overlooking Clifton Bay in Cape Town. Not bad! Luckily for you there’s so much to do in Amsterdam too. Never a dull moment! So ignore the cold and go outside to check out the cool things from the Amsterdam Weekend Guide!

– Amsterdam West has a new hotspot! Did you check out Morgan and Mees already?

– There’s a new kid in town that is perfect for drinks! And if you’re there anyway make sure to taste a burger too :-). Meet Frits!

– Go drinking and dancing at Soso Lobi at the Waterkant on Friday the 6th!

– I would have loved to run a project like this when I was a student at the UvA. Students opened a Happeteria in Amsterdam. I have no clue if the food is any good… but it’s for the good cause so a little shout out for them anyway ;-).

– If you like design and then especially vintage design there’s a fair in the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam North you don’t want to miss: Design Icons. Feb. 7 & 8!

– Sunday there’s an apperitivo at Radion. With live jam sessions, food and drinks. Free entrance!

– One of the coolest tours to do for locals in Amsterdam! A Street Art Tour around Amsterdam.


– The popular Dutch TV show DWDD is organising a pop-up exhibit in Amsterdam at the Allard Pierson Museum curated by the hosts of the show from the collection of 10 museums in The Netherlands. Until May 25!

– If you think the selfie is a new invention, you’re wrong. Self imaging is from all ages. Discover it at the expo ‘Look at me’ at the Tropenmuseum. Until March 15.

– Now at Arcam: City Hotels an expo about 15 hotels that are housed in unique buildings with a story like the Volkshotel. Until April 12.

– Cool for the ladies! The expo Forever Vintage at the Museum of Bags and Purses.
