Amsterdam Weekend Guide // 10 tips for February 28 & 29 + March 1

27 February 2020

It’s here again! A brand new Amsterdam Weekend Guide with the 10 best tips for this weekend in Amsterdam. And did you know we don’t only do that for Amsterdam? There is also a new Fïnley Sunday Guide for March ready for you with 33 tips throughout the Netherlands for the perfect Sunday afternoon. When you’re reading this, we have arrived safely in South Africa with Emirates. Also check the stories on Instagram to read what it’s like to fly with Emirates with kids! We have just arrived in the Stellenbosch region in [category cat = “5736” text = “South Africa”] for a very special wedding. And partly we are also here refuelling before we move back to our own ‘new’ house, but mainly to work on a mega update of the [category cat = “5929” text = “Cape Town (and vicinity) Travel Guide”] on Your Little Black Book and also for Travelkids.co. And did I mention that next week we will also go to Dubai for a few days on the way back? I almost don’t dare to share any pictures on Instagram of how nice the weather is here. That is why with this Amsterdam Weekend Guide I have again tried to take into account that there are also enough tips for indoors and wet weather. Have fun with the 10 X tips from the new Amsterdam Weekend Guide for February 28 & 29 + March 1.

10 X THE BEST TIPS FOR THIS WEEKEND IN AMSTERDAM

❶ Normally in the Weekend Guide we tell you about the best things to do outside, but because we understand better than anyone that with all the rain and storms, you also want to secretly enjoy your favourite series and good food on the couch at home. Together with Thuisbezorgd we created an ultimate list of 19 favourite restaurants that simply deliver to your home. And the best news? Via @YOURLBB on Instagram you have a chance to win one of the 4 gift vouchers worth € 50 to have your favourite food delivered to your home. Want to participate? Click here to go to the post >>

❷ Do you want to start the weekend with a party on Friday? February 28th it is time again for Edelwise and I no longer have to explain what that means. The doors of Het Sieraad will open from 6 pm for the cosiest Vrijmibo in the city. Check all info via the Facebook event >>

❸ Good news for everyone who likes to go to the Sunday Market, because Sunday March 1 you can stroll through the stalls again and eat lots of good stuff with your friends during the Spring Is In The Air Market at Westergas. Check the times and exact location in the Facebook event >>

Reliving is one of my favourite online platforms for unique vintage finds. On Sunday March 1 they finally open the doors of their warehouse so that you can view and buy all the furniture in real life. Extra fun: there is also an exchange corner where you can exchange things! Want to know more? In the Facebook event you can find all info >>

❺ Do you want to do something special on Saturday February 29? At Artis you can watch the stars in the Planetarium that evening! A group can enter every half hour between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. There is no entrance fee, but a voluntary contribution. Want to know more? Check out the Facebook event >>

⋙ Have you already been to the new exhibition about Bali in The Tropenmuseum. Nice if you’re a fan of Bali or if you have plans to go on a holiday to this island and want to know more about the culture and the impact of tourism on this beautiful island. Informative, interesting and an exhibition that makes you think. You can have a drink at Café De Tropen where they have put Indonesian dishes on the menu especially for this exhibition (and believe us that you want to taste the saté Lilit!).
