Amsterdam Weekend Guide // 10 tips for February 21, 22 & 23

20 February 2020

Do you recognize this? January went by painfully slow and February feels like a whirlwind, where there seem to be way to little hours in a day. We want to go everywhere to try out the new hotspots, we want to see all the new exhibitions, but there are also 101 things on the to-do lists. Incidentally, I will complete that list from South Africa in the coming weeks, where I will be for an update of the travel guides and the necessary time offline to refuel before it’s March! And after that we can (hopefully) finally move back to our own house in Amsterdam. Exactly on time to bike to all the markets with the sun on my face and to drink coffee on the terrace for the first time. Can you tell I have springtime on my mind…? Because the weather has let us down for quite a few weeks now, I made an attempt to collect more tips that you can also do well with storm E. or thundercloud A. above your head. Have fun with the 10 X tips from the new Amsterdam Weekend Guide for February 21, 22 & 23.

❽ There’s a lot of slurping going on again this weekend during the oyster happy hours in the city. And this Sunday a special shout out to Razmataz. Last week we received a message that this great spot will stop after 11 years and that means that this week is the very last edition of the Zilte Zondag.

The Good Companion // February 22, from 3 – 5 PM
Razmataz Zilte Zondag // February 23, from 3 – 7 PM

Are you familiar with SurpriSeat? This restaurant platform turns going out to dinner into a real exciting event again. I highly recommend trying this out for a date night. For € 26,50 you can book a 2 course dinner in Amsterdam, Utrecht or Rotterdam. The restaurant you will be eating at is kept secret until a couple hours before dinner time. Want to experience this too? Use the code YLBB to get a € 7,50 discount on a surprise dinner for 2. Read more about it in this blogpost or make a reservation here for your own SurpriSeat >>

❾ Want to end the weekend with a brunch with friends? The bottomless brunch at the INK hotel is always a cozy option (and always sold out). Check the Facebook event quickly to reserve your spot before February 23 >>

❿ Last week we were at the new exhibition about Bali in The Tropenmuseum. Nice as a preparation, if you have plans to go on holiday to this island and want to know more about the culture and the impact of tourism on this beautiful island. Informative, interesting and an exhibition that makes you think. You can have a drink at Café De Tropen where they’ve put Indonesian dishes on the menu especially for this exhibition (and believe us that you want to taste the saté Lilit!).
