– Do you want to see something really cool this weekend? Make sure you’ll walk by the Moco (Modern/Contemporary) Museum! The world wide famous Heart Boy of Banksy is highly exceptional presented in the front yard. A very unique opportunity to set eyes on this piece of art. Doesn’t cost you a thing!
– You just can’t get enough of Banksy after this? His exposition ‘Laugh Now’ is still going strong in Moco Museum. Thanks to great succes it’s even extended till October 30. Plus, till July 3 you can also gaze at the arts of Andy Warhol there!
– And because Amsterdam is all about Banksy this weekend, the fun just doesn’t stop. Because also the art’otel is joining with the exposition Street Art Evolution inspired by Banksy. Until September 30 you can go here, but only this weekend there will be on site art works made by different artists!
– Are you more fan of digital art? Visit the De Merkenwinkel in the Huidenstraat for their exposition of The Art Bowl. All the art here has something to do with computers. Pretty cool!
– Also the Tolhuistuin is a good place for getting some cultural experience this weekend. During the Scopophilia Art Festival in the garden you’ll find art, music, spoken word, theatre, film and dance!
– In the Tropenmuseum it’s still all about the exposition of Rhythm & Roots. Until October 30 you can learn about the differences and similarities of music world wide.
– Another must see for the tourist in your own city: the exposition of Jimmy Nelson in Rademakers Gallery. With never before seen photos till June 19.
– Fan of The Rolling Stones? Make sure you visit the Eduard Planting Gallery. Until June 9 you can see the expo‘Breaking Stones 1963-1965: A Band on the Brink of Superstardom‘.
– Another music legend who is worth an exposition: Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait. This expo offers you a unique peek in the life of the deceased singer. The intimate, personal exhibition is there till September 4.
– Until June 27 you can go to the Amsterdam art gallery Vroom & Varossieau for the colourful pieces of the Brazilian street artist Cranio. The exposition Amazonian Diet exists of paintings, drawings and toys with a critical note to the life of the 21st century.
– Always wanted to travel through time? The 100 artworks of Made in Amsterdam make that possible. With various movements and artists you will be time travelling over the past 100 years in Amsterdam. Exhibition is until July 31!
– In the Nieuwe Kerk it’s still possible to gaze at the impressive photos of World Press Photo 2016.The best photos of international press photographers are shown here. Until July 10!
– This one’s actually a must visit for everyone from Amsterdam: Wonen in de Amsterdamse School in the Stedelijk Museum. Until August 28 you can learn all about this expressive movement with more than 500 art works. After this you’ll know this city even better!
– Listening and watching intimate jazz and soul performances with a beautiful view on the background? That’s possible on the already fifth edition of On the Roof. What started as a music evening with friends on the roof in North Amsterdam has grown into a series of seven concerts. This weekend the first edition!
– Are the beats of Vic Crezée makeing you want to dance as well? Then you really want to go to Club Nyx. Vic will be playing a 5 hour set during White Boy Wasted.
