One of our favourite neighbourhoods in Amsterdam has to be Amsterdam North. The raw industrial NDSM wharf, sheds, old warehouses, street art and creatieve hotspots make North a real trendy and hip neighbourhood. After a short trip over the water with the ferry, you will find yourself in a world of festivals, hotspots at the IJ, cool shops and very good restaurants. We made a list with the best restaurants, lunch & brunch hotspots, coffee bars, shops and hotels in Amsterdam North. Cannibale Royale Noord: YES, in a little while we can also eat the steaks, entrecotes and delicious fries from Cannibale Royale in Amsterdam North!
Steward & Sally: You order your to go meal here and eat it somewhere else. And not just to go meals, think of good stews, wraps, soups and salads. Perfect for lunch!
Coba Taqueria: The perfect place for the Mexican food lovers among us. At this taqueria you can order different sorts of taco’s and even grasshoppers.
Restaurant Stork: A trendy seafood restaurant in an old industrial building. Definitely try the Fruit de Mer platter. Of course they also have really nice meat and veggie options to choose from.
Lokaal Spaanders: Lokaal Spaanders is an all-day café where you want to wake up with a good cup of coffee, lunch with fresh salads and have a nice dinner in the weekend

Café Keppler: At this all day spot you can have a cup of coffee to wake up with, bread with old cheese and other good dishes to enjoy after a long day. Or have drinks with friends and enjoy a planchette with bites with your wine or beer.
De Proeverij: At De Proeverij of Landmarkt the dishes are prepared straight from the market for you. As soon as the shop opens, you can enjoy a cup of coffee with some sweets.
Hangar: The industrial and raw vibe that Amsterdam North is known for matches perfectly with the warmth of the Southern European dishes on the menu.
SmaaQt: This brasserie on the Pekmarkt has a tough, robust look and serves fair products from the region. Sandwiches, salads, soups and bites to order all day.
Il PecorinoThis Italian spot on Wilhelminadock serves Italian pizza! And nice: in the summer you can sit on their sunny terrace by the water side.
Pllek: Nice summer hotspot where you can sit on the beach with view over the IJ. In wintertime you can sit at the fireplace. Especially nice on a Sunday with live music! Order the sandwich with grilled veggies.
The Rolling Rock Kitchen: The Rolling Rock Kitchen or The Rock is an industrial hotspot in a warehouse, with guitars on the wall and a variety of day- and weekly meals on the menu.
Noorderlicht: Not a standard classical restaurant, but nice for a bite in the evening! At Noorderlicht the food is sustainable and nice detail: the interior is mainly based on the re-use of materials.

The Coffee Virus: A lunch café and coffee bar where you get really good coffee.
Café Modern: A homely vintage design interior with a Table d’Hote concept. They work everyday with fresh seasonal ingredients with a new 4-course menu daily.
EYE Bar Restaurant: Have lunch or dinner with a beautiful view at EYE Bar Restaurant! With afterwards a movie at the film museum.
Hotel de Goudfazant: Favourite in North! Here you will have a great 3-course dinner, pure and no nonsense.
Loetje aan het IJ: The best steak you eat at Loetje! And at Loetje aan het IJ you can enjoy your steak Bali overlooking the IJ. Not bad!
THT: The restaurant of the Tolhuistuin for a simple nice bite and a view on the IJ.
Oedipus Taproom: Here you will find Amsterdam craft beers from brewery Oedipus! The taproom is open on Friday and Saturday.

Woodies at Berlin: Handmade furniture, vintage design furniture and lightning. Extra nice fact: no mass production and you can create your own design!
Neef Louis: Neef Louis sells the coolest items in his two old warehouses. From industrial metal desks and lamps to vintage gym material. Everything recycled and re-done!
Fashion & Tea: At this concept store in the Pekbuurt you can drink the nicest coffee, have lunch with sandwiches or soup and shop the nicest items. Jewellery, watches, leatherwear and clothing.
