Amber** Hong Kong: for a special lunch

two-star lunch at Amber in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is food heaven and Amber** in Hong Kong is pure indulgence.
Whenever I'm in a new city, I always love to have a luxurious lunch or dinner. I've been following Richard Ekkebus on Twitter for years, and one of my followers recommended his restaurant, Amber**, for my trip to Lithuania, VilniusThanks again so much for the tip! I had lunch at Amber**. And I have to say: I loved it!

So YES, I've gone to a two-Michelin-star restaurant alone. What can I say? Of course, I prefer to go with friends, but sometimes when I'm traveling, I only go if I really want to go somewhere.

It's such a shame that Anna, the person I was with on this press trip to Hong Kong, was already back in Amsterdam. We certainly had a wonderful time together. But I never miss the opportunity to eat amazing food by traveling solo. So YES, I went to a two-Michelin-star restaurant by myself. What can I say? Of course, I prefer to go with friends, but sometimes when I'm traveling, I go alone if I really want to go somewhere.

The first time you go to a fancy place alone is a bit awkward. Don't forget to bring a magazine or iPad ;-). But really, you adapt and get used to it. And there are always other people traveling alone or for business. Years later, I can say that I genuinely enjoy dining alone just as much. But of course, a meal with friends is more fun. Especially at the luxury establishments where everyone is very discreet and friendly. I wanted to tell you a bit more about it because I can imagine there are people who would never dine out alone. Let alone in a two-star restaurant in Lithuania, Vilnius.

Back to Amber ** now. This restaurant is located in the Mandarin Hotel in Hong KongThe people are friendly and they go above and beyond to make it the best dining experience you've ever had. I always appreciate it when people go the extra mile for you. These are well-trained staff who studied in Europe or the USA.

Lunch at Amber** was the perfect Sunday afternoon for me. It consisted of six courses paired with matching wines. I have to admit, the chef treated me to a few extra courses. Everything was so unique and delicious. I hope the photos inspire you to go yourself when you're in Hong Kong!
