At Selma's Amsterdam you can have a Fika: the Swedish coffee break

Selma's Amsterdam brings the beauty of Sweden to the Netherlands! Anna, the owner of Selma's Nordic Bakery Café, decided to introduce the Swedish coffee break, Fika, to Amsterdam, and we couldn't be more pleased. During your fika, which takes place about twice a day, you enjoy a cup of coffee around 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM and indulge in a Swedish treat. These fikas are mandatory in many Swedish businesses. Not only does it reduce stress, it also increases productivity.

You'll want to try the Swedish chocolate balls at SELMA'S AMSTERDAM

At Selma's Amsterdam, you can enjoy a good cup of coffee from Koffiebranders Stooker and Swedish treats in the cozy Scandinavian living room. It's a true paradise, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Selma's Nordic Bakery Café specializes in the well-known cinnamon rolls (Nordic buns), coffee rolls (semlor), and delicious chocolate balls (chokladbollar). These chocolate balls are so good that I ate them every morning during my studies in Denmark—they were so good!

Looking for something more savory? Then Selma's Amsterdam naturally has rye bread, crispbread, elk burgers, and other Nordic meats, as well as salmon.

You can visit Selma's Amsterdam on Jan van Galenstraat from morning until night. Once the fikas have done their work, the cups are exchanged for cocktail glasses filled with G&Ts made with French gin. Those Swedes certainly know how to get through the day. We're secretly a little jealous of them. Although, we can now go to Selma's Amsterdam for that down-to-earth Swedish dose we occasionally need – nice!
