Good coffee and tasty sandwiches at Scandinavian Embassy Amsterdam

I LOVE the Nordics! So I was thrilled when I found the Scandinavian Embassy in De Pijp I recently had a lovely lunch and coffee there with a former colleague who is now editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan. Cool job, huh? Scandinavian Embassy is a perfect hotspot to meet for a good cup of specialty coffee or lunch. And conveniently located in the heart of De Pijp directly opposite the Sarphatipark.

The small café isn't particularly noticeable from the street, but once inside, you'll immediately recognize the minimalist and warm Scandinavian atmosphere. It's pleasantly busy on Saturdays, and I understand why. This is the place to be for good coffee. They have a huge selection of unique roasts from all over the world. I went for the Ethiopian drip coffee. It's incredibly delicious! And such a beautiful, pure flavor—no need for milk or sugar (and the baristas prefer it that way either...).

The menu features delicious sandwiches with a Scandinavian twist. We both opted for the salmon on toast. It's organic and super healthy. Be sure to ask about the lunch specials. They have a delicious (hot) lunch dish every day.
