Heading out of town? 🍂 These are my favorite walking and drinking spots in the Netherlands.
To be honest... I don't see myself living outside the city anytime soon, but on weekends I do enjoy getting out into nature. That's why I've created a YLBB shortlist of the most beautiful hiking areas, complete with a great spot for drinks nearby.
My perfect Sunday? First, a walk, then plopping down somewhere with a treat or a hot chocolate (or, of course, a glass of wine and bitterballen!).
📍From Lage Vuursche to the Waterleidingduinen and the Amsterdamse Bos, in this video I share my favorites.
But... there are, of course, many more great places in the Netherlands where you can enjoy a drink after a walk. Which tip do you think shouldn't be missed? 👇
Save this post to enjoy nature this season, or forward it to your hiking date. 🍁

Forget the classic omakase experience in Amsterdam, this is something else.
Hidden inside burger spot @paindemie_amsterdam and inspired by the Tokyo subway, you'll find @moyo_amsterdam. A new hotspot redefining the omakase concept.
Chef @guillaumedebeer is behind this next-level concept, and it shows in every creative detail. But here O-toro and Wagyu take the stage 🥩.
It's intimate, creative, and seriously one of the most exciting new openings in Amsterdam right now.
Save this for your next special dinner night 🔥

The most beautiful l𝗶𝗰𝗵𝘁𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘀 throughout 𝗡𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 for your 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 this season
The days are getting shorter, the evenings longer…
And honestly? I secretly think that's one of the best things about this season. Because the transition from fall to winter means: light festivals! ✨
All over the Netherlands, cities, parks and castles light up with light art, projections and installations that you'll want to see.
What once started with the Amsterdam Light Festival has grown into one of the most beautiful winter traditions in the country, if you ask me!
At most light festivals they also have nice hot chocolate and food stalls for something tasty to go.
Perfect for a winter evening with your loved one, family or friends.
Can you picture yourself with a hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand, strolling past works of art that transform streets, parks, and canals into a fairytale?
From North Holland to Gelderland, I'm sharing all the tips in a comprehensive article on Your Little Black Book, featuring the best light festivals in almost every province in the Netherlands.
Believe me: this is such a special outing to make the dark days just a little bit brighter.
Ps: I'll also have some exciting news about the @lefoodwalk at the @amsterdamlightfestival on Your Little Black Book soon!
Have fun making plans!

Looking for the hottest new spot for a date night in Amsterdam City Center? Meet @littlebonfire.ams 🔥
With its cozy vibe it's the kind of place that feels like an extension of your living room: but with much better food and wine.
On the ever changing menu you'll find classics to share: from pan con tomate with anchovies, stracciatella with zucchini and peas, to crispy eggplant, vitello and sea bass with clams. Don't skip dessert: the Basque cheesecake is already my favorite.
This spot is perfect for a date night at the bar or dinner with the girls.
I think Little Bonfire Amsterdam is a keeper in the city center!

I used to think Halloween was stupid 🎃.
But since I became a mother, it has become one of our favorite holidays!
There are so many fun things to do together as a family. 🖤
Last year, my son and I celebrated Halloween in New York, and believe me, we still talk about it every week (see slide 9). Since then, the anticipation has been just as much fun as the celebration itself.
In the comprehensive Halloween Guide on Your Little Black Book, I've collected all our favorite tips for you:
– From not-too-scary movies to Halloween classics for the whole family
– Addresses to quickly score pumpkins
– Fun DIYs for home (perfect for rainy autumn days ☔)
And of course: fun Halloween events throughout the Netherlands (not just for kids, but also a fantastic Halloween concert, for example!)
In this post, I'm sharing some inspiration, but comment HALLOWEEN to receive the link to all the YLBB tips directly in your DMs.
What do you think of the Halloween craze in the Netherlands?

When I started searching for Halloween movies that aren't scary, I came across so many great tips that I immediately made a list for you. You probably remember some of these movies from your childhood! And you can also watch some of the movies on this list with the kids, although I've also made a separate list for that, with only kid-friendly Halloween cartoonsSo let your horror movie fan friends have a good scare on a Halloween party, while you're cozy on the couch with these Halloween movies.
| TIP: Decorate your home with these Halloween decoration tips that aren't ugly >>

Grab the popcorn! This list of Halloween movies will give you days of binge-watching fun.
A Halloween film you'll dare to watch. In Curse of Bridge Hollow, a teenager moves with her down-to-earth father to a town obsessed with Halloween. Everything seems innocent until the decorations come to life. What follows is a comical adventure full of spooky vibes, without expecting any nightmares.
(IMDB: 5.6/10) Watch the trailer here:
The movie I've been most looking forward to around Halloween! A part 2 of my favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus! Set 29 years after the events of Hocus Pocus part 1, three teenagers named Becca, Cassie, and Izzy accidentally bring the Sandorson sisters back to life using a black candle. The wicked witches are also played in part 2 by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. Once back in the land of the living, The sisters feed on young women to regain their youth. Now back in Salem, they have only one goal: revenge. The three girls face the challenge of stopping the witches before the clock strikes midnight on Halloween night.
TIP: Are you as crazy about Hocus Pocus as I am and do you have kids who love Lego? Then this Hocus Pocus-themed Lego house is a must-have! Make it a family project to assemble the Sanderson sisters' house around Halloween. View the Disney Hocus Pocus set here >>
My all-time favorite Halloween movie! Hocus Pocus is a true classic about three witches who want to become immortal. Their plan fails, and the witches are sentenced to death. However, a curse from their spellbook brings them back to Earth after 300 years—on Halloween—to try again.

A classic for anyone born in the '80s! This film tells the story of a designer (Johnny Depp) who dies before finishing a job, leaving him with scissors instead of hands. A woman finds Edward in his old mansion and decides to take him home to her own family. (IMDb rating: 7,9) Watch the trailer here:

And above all, will Norman be able to convince the backward adults that he's right? (IMDb rating: 7,0) You can watch the trailer here:
The Haunted Mansion tells the story of a real estate agent (Eddy Murphy) who goes on vacation with his family. Before they leave, he stops by a house. Unfortunately, a ghost inhabits the house and throws the family's plans into disarray. (IMDb rating: 5,1) Watch the trailer here:
A lesser-known Halloween film, so chances are you haven't seen it yet. Halloweentown is about a family whose grandmother tells them they're all witches. It turns out everyone has magical powers. (IMDb rating: 6,7) Watch the trailer here:
I wasn't familiar with this one myself, so I'll be watching it in the coming weeks! Hubie Halloween is a rather unpopular villager obsessed with Halloween. When real monsters invade the village during the holidays, Hubie decides to take on the challenge. Hubie Halloween is a fun Halloween film for the whole family. (IMDb rating: 5,2) Watch the trailer here:
This movie is so much fun! Coco is about a Mexican boy who discovers an ancient mystery and finds himself in the world of the dead. There, he reconnects with his great-grandparents and learns that we are always connected. This Halloween film will bring both smiles and tears. (IMDb rating: 8,4) Watch the trailer here:
This film is about a married couple who die in a car accident. When new people move into their house, they try to scare them away by creating a haunting. Unfortunately, they're not very successful, so they enlist the help of Beetle Juice (a ghost who can transform into a monster). (IMDb rating: 7,5) Watch the trailer here:
Goosebumps is about a boy who moves to the countryside. There, he meets a beautiful girl next door and her strange father, a writer of books. Trouble begins when the boy discovers that the monsters in the books are real and accidentally releases them. (IMDb rating: 6,3) You can watch the trailer here:
Pure nostalgia for this Halloween movie that isn't scary! Casper is a lonely ghost looking for friends. Unfortunately, he always scares the hell out of everyone. When a girl moves into Casper's house with her father (who is a ghost hunter), things change. (IMDb rating: 6,1) Watch the trailer here:
The film is about a boy madly in love with his babysitter. One night, he decides to stay awake so he can spy on her. This turns out to be a night full of strange discoveries. Good to know: this Halloween film is slightly less suitable for young children. (IMDb rating: 6,3) Watch the trailer here:
In Zombieland, the world has been taken over by zombies. Four survivors decide to join forces and fight. Will their fight be successful, or would it be better to surrender to the zombies? (IMDb rating: 7,6) Watch the trailer here:

These three short Halloween stories are about Shrek and his friends. They try to scare each other with scary stories, Shrek celebrates Halloween in his own "ogre" way, and Shrek and Donkey must rescue Fiona from a ghost. You can watch the stories on Netflix.
Not exactly a Halloween movie, but certainly exciting. A couple in love meets each other's families. However, doubts arise when the boy's in-laws react somewhat strangely. (IMDb rating: 7,7) You can watch the trailer here:
This animated film tells the story of a young man practicing his wedding vows. To his horror, the Corpse Bride suddenly appears from the land of the dead, claiming to be married to him. | ALSO LIKE: Go (with the kids) to a pumpkin farm >>
Dracula runs a luxurious hotel specifically for monsters and other scary creatures. At the same time, he's trying to raise his teenage daughter. When he throws her a birthday party, everything threatens to spiral out of control. This Halloween film is definitely not scary and suitable for the whole family! (IMDb rating: 7,1) Watch the trailer here:
After a night of trick-or-treating, a boy finds some old videotapes in his candy bag. He decides to watch them with his babysitter. But is this such a good idea? (IMDb rating: 5,1) Watch the trailer here:
This Halloween film tells the story of a sleepy village with a legend: the Headless Horseman. When two men each try to win the heart of the same woman, one decides to dress up as the Horseman to chase the other away. It sounds funny, until the real Headless Horseman shows up.
(IMDb score: 5,0)
This film is so wonderfully feel-good that it definitely belongs on this list of Halloween movies that aren't scary. In Ghostbusters, a unique trio decides to start a company specializing in eliminating paranormal apparitions.
