now is the time to make your 2016 bucket list!
I can’t say it enough: North America has a high priority on my #bucketlist. So many cities I want to visit. New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Miami and Chicago… the idea only makes my travel heart beat a little faster. New York secretly feels a little like my second home, since I’m visiting it every year to update the city guide. And last year I had the chance to visit Boston, so cool! But still there is enough to dream about and lucky enough it becomes cheaper every time to fly there! So discover our shortlist 5 x North America bucket list cities for 2016 you don’t want to miss! And the good part is: this week KLM has great ticket deals with discounts.
>> Boston >>
The surprise of the year to me was Boston. I had no idea what to expect by visiting this city, but it was a blast! Boston is a big city, with wide streets and lots of green parks. But did you know Boston is also situated at the water? The hotspots at the waterfront are so cool, places where you can go for dinner and drinks. A bucket list thingy to do in Boston: spotting whales! A very special thing to do.
>>Las Vegas >>
Las Vegas is obviously the city of mega large hotels and casino’s. The place to see and be seen. You spend your day at the swimming pool, underneath the palm trees to enjoy the sunny weather, while at nighttime you stroll around the Las Vegas Boulevard. Want to escape the craziness of the city? Make a trip to the Hoover dam or the Grand Canyon.
Sun, sea, beach and fun! Miami is the place for a luxurious beach holiday. The place where you will be amazed about the giant yachts in the harbour. Drink a cocktail in a beautiful bar or club (don’t forget to bring your high heels and nice jacket) and dance till the early hours. Want to explore the wildlife? Go to the Everglades National Park; here you will sail by a marsh area and the chance to spot crocodiles!
>>New York >>
By now a very well known city for me, because I always try to go back here at least once a year. To fall in love with the city over and over again. Make sure you don’t stop exploring after you’ve seen Manhattan, because SoHo and the Lower East Side are really my favourite areas. And especially cross the Brooklyn Bridge to Williamsburg and Bushwick for nice hotspots and cool street art.
Chicago is the city of jazz and blues. Here you will find a lot of different jazz clubs and speakeasy bars where you can drink cocktails and listen to good music all night long. You will also find a lot of luxury restaurants, an impressive skyline and… a beach! Like Oak Street Beach and North Avenue Beach.
